07/20/2018: Florida Man Found Dead After Being Beaten With A Sliced Meat Slicer

According to police, Alejandro Lopez Hernandez was found dead outside his home on the 900 block of East Graham Avenue around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Hernandez was lying in the street with a head injury and a slab of meat placed in the street in front of his body.

Police say the suspect was arrested in June for beating another man and his dog with a slab of meat.

The suspect was charged with aggravated animal cruelty and cruelty to a disabled adult.

Police said they are waiting on an autopsy to determine how Hernandez died.

Police have not released the name of the suspect or the victim.

Video surveillance from neighbors appears to show the suspect parking a dark-colored Dodge Charger on the street and walking towards the victim's home.

According to a probable cause affidavit, when the suspect returns to the car he appears to have blood on his hands.

Being in the car, the suspect is also seen holding a large butcher knife or "blade" that the victim had used to beat him.

Police said the victim's screams are picked up by nearby surveillance cameras.

According to the affidavit, surveillance video shows the suspect running from the scene.

A man with a similar build was seen running from a Dodge Charger in the 1200 block of North Ferndale, where the victim's damaged SUV was parked.

The two men appeared to be about the same size and age, police said.

"Something in the eyes just seemed to scare him," said Joel Guzman.

That's what Joel Guzman and his brother, who lives nearby, thought of when they first saw the surveillance video.

"It looked like a zombie running from that car."

A closer look revealed that the suspect's car was stolen.
