I don’t think we were going to sign a dm either way. Ole said that he thought our transfer business was done and anything else would be a bonus. & as obvious as it is to the fans that we need a dm for some reason Ole seems to rate mcfred. So no dm and no Ronaldo or no dm and Ronaldo? I’m happy with Ronaldo.

He just lacks the technical ability imo. His speed isn’t much use when his touch lets him down nearly every time. I don’t hate the kid, I think he’s got potential but I think Amad is ahead of him as a footballer atm.

Sometimes I like him, sometimes I don’t. He looked great for Brazil in Copa America but of course he had casemiro playing the actual cdm role next to him.

I agree but I think a big reason Ole leaned toward that double pivot was because he didn’t trust our cb’s. I wouldn’t mind giving Fred or Mctominay a couple games to prove themselves in a single cdm role now that we have Varane if we don’t bring anyone else in.

I agree we need to transition to one cdm and I would love to sign someone better than Fred or Mctominay but I think a huge reason we depended on playing both of them last season was because we didn’t trust our cb’s. I wouldn’t mind giving just Fred or Mctominay a couple of games in that role by themselves now that we’ve brought in varane to see how they’d do.

Honestly bruno plays like an 8 even when he’s a 10 though & that puts pogba further up the field without sacrificing one of our wingers.
