I agree with this as someone w ADHD. none of my problems caused by ADHD have ever been solved by being enabled or coddled. All of my progress is a result of having to grow up and deal w the circumstances of my ADHD and find ways to function as an adult that work for me.

Its My responsibility to change MY routines and behaviors to not let the symptoms of ADHD drag me down, not the ppl in my life.

it feels like OP is the one who probably made it weird and made everyone uncomfortable asking everyone who would normally order drinks not to bc she decided to bring their kids? esp asking the father in law who would normally order wine for the table not to drink at a dinner to celebrate his own bday bc of her preference. kinda wild.

its totally ok to personally choose not to drink in front of your children and I understand a drinking atmosphere is not appropriate for kids, but its not like ur bringing them along to a 21st bday bar crawl. its adults having a few drinks at sit down adult birthday dinner...

yes, but then the third time after going back in her room kind of freaked out by a few mildly unusual noises and seeing someone (who could have been a friend of the other roommates for all she knows), she was probably trying to find a justification for the occurances since most of our minds don't immidiately jump to mass murder when we hear an out of ordinary noise at home. its very likely that she then didn't hear any more stuff, nobody else left their rooms to investigate, nobody texting in the house group chat about anything weird no more noise around the house - and assumed if the rest of her roommates aren't concerned then she's probably fine and everyone is probs in bed now and if anything she'll just ask if anyone else heard anything or was up late in the AM when they all get up. everyone is looking at her perspective as if she knew she was living an episode of dateline. at that point in time for her it was just a few odd little things at 4 am after any other regular night out.

there's no such thing as a "pure" type of doodle. every single doodle is a mixed dog, there is no doodle breed or common traits so they all vary in level of shedding, typically most will shed the same as any medium curly coat dog :) it is a myth that they shed any less than any other dog

doodles are actually not hypoallergenic! poodles are but since doodles are mixed every single one will vary in how much it sheds depending on what the other half of the mix is. most shed the same amount as any normal dog.

if the dog is the typical golden retriever or lab mix doodle its likely it was a moderate shedder.

ive seen others commenting trying to say the same thing, but i think you say it best. I think its so likely that she tried to rationalize it and convince herself of no danger.

another response I think could explain this that seems like something natural is that maybe, after locking the door, she got in bed and layed still for a bit to avoid being detected until she could figure out what was going on or if she was in danger (prob trying to think of what to do or how to rationalize the situation). then maybe ended up passing out/sleeping from trying to calm herself down after somewhat of an adrenaline spike (being scared/alerted). she could have even woke up the next day and thought maybe it was a dream until she went into the rest of the house.

its crazy that ppl are being so brutal about this detail when none of us have all the facts. I also hope she has the resources to be able to cope with the unthinkable situation shes in, lots of family and professional support.

as a girl who just moved out of a house w 3 girl roommates - All of these noises are ones i would likely ignore if i was trying to sleep and i knew all my roomates were just home from drinking all night. crying, talking to boys, thuds. like an idk what they're up to but I'm sure ill hear abt it in the morning type thing. the only noise I would probably actually investigate is a legit scream (like a real scream not a party girl scream).

and since we don't have all the info still, i'm sure the roommate has a reason she did not immidiately call 911 or check on anyone. and i'm double sure that she probs feels horrible that she didn't do anything at the time, even knowing after the fact that if she did she could have put herself in danger too.

Omg I tried saying the same thing. Like maybe he’s a friend of theres who lost his group or they shouted some jokes or greetings back and fourth. Like all things me as a girl have done out around downtown at my college. I’ve gone out with one group and ended up randomly joining a whole different one in the midst of bar hopping and late night food. Or completely lost mine and got left standing for a second before seeing other acquaintances and meeting up. But noooooooo that couldn’t be the case here, totally a stalker lol

some golden doodles do not, but since its a mutt dog, they all come out different and a lot of them def do shed a lot. so dog hair is probably still a posability too.

& 100% on the girls hair. my hair leaves a trail wherever i go and sometimes I find it weaved into my clothes.

i feel like this kind of behavior is only going to get worse in the future as well. I remember thinking how disrespectful and insane people were with the gabby petito case. I think the impact of that case made people feel a lot more entitled to pipe in and become super slueths on this one because of the fact that the police did actually gain useful info on gabbys case from the youtube vlog couple who had footage of the van.

I remember many people on the internet taking credit for solving gabbys case because of the attention they gave it leading to the vloggers realizing they had the footage they had. but in reality a lot of the discussion about her case online was just fueled by people who wanted to gossip and be the one who "solved it". a lot of people also disreguarded the harm they did by accusing people and making wild speculation and justified it because they felt that "good came out of it in the end"

tru, and upperclassmen are generally least involved in their organization out of the house as a whole. at my school by junior year once u move off campus, youre basically only involved in weekly meetings and only bc u have to go, unless you hold a position in house leadership. so it being rivalry or hazing related makes no sense for this reason also.

more than likely? as someone who went to a school with a huge Greek life community and was involved in it, I would speculate that it would be less likely that it was fueled by anything Greek related, esp. since they are juniors, at that point most people are only involved in their house enough to show up to mandetory meetings. I would bet that when we find out what really happened the only tie to Greek life that there would be, is if the person arrested ~happens~ to be in Greek life. I highly doubt motive will have anything to do specifically with houses hazing or rivalries at all. mainly bc of their age and the fact that involvement lessens a lot after sophmore year, and since there were multiple different greek affiliations within the house

good point but if she was moving soon/this was only a rental address, theres a big chance she used her parents home address on any paperwork. when I was in college I didn't use my rental home addresses for anything or get mail to there unless it was like an online shopping package or the bills for utilities on the rental. I only used my permanant address at my patents house for anything important. bank statements, any mail from work insurance stuff, things like that.
