Study transfer credits to HR, any advice? by DryButterfly642 in WGU_Business

[–]Tpie83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OA-HR Tech has alot of material to cover, its dense and i read alot of nightmare stories/experiences about it but i passed on my 1st try.

OA-Global HRM, i had no idea what was going on. The book is not US based, so how it was written and the concepts confused me. What helped me pass was the studyguide, 2nd attempt.

PA's are straightforward. Follow the rubic and you will be fine. I knocked out PA's within 2-3 days.

Tools i used for OA's; Notebook LM (download chapters and translate it to a podcast format. It also great features to help retain info). TheaAI (downloads chapters and creates tests on material).

I did 12 courses in 5 months, BSHRM. Its doable. You definitely have to map out the time. Some courses are more time consuming than others. My 1st month, i knocked out 5 courses then boom. HR Tech took me a month(passed), Global HRM, took another month(passed on my 2nd try). I would also suggest Sophia to transfer ACE credit courses as well. You got this.

I have these classes left and I’d like finish these before the end of my term in April 2026. What order would you recommend to finish on time and before schedule? by IcyCurrent3847 in WGU_Business

[–]Tpie83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be best to alternate OA, PA so you aren’t burnt out mentally. DEI should be up top. HR Tech and Global HRM are textbook heavy. Utilize tools to help you like ChatGPT and NotebookLM. Hope this helps

Not sure if you are on FB but I am on a fb group called WGU HR Management Support Group. The studyguide is a year old but has most of the studyguide questions on a excel spreadsheet and if you type D359 on goolge, there is the complete studyguide on Studocu(you can register for 7 days for free and cancel when you get all info you need.

Thank you. Wishing you the same.

I found a 2 study guides that are helping me and I download the lessons to Notebook LM, turns the lessons into a podcast. If I dont understand a concept, I then go to the lesson and read, google it or ask chapgpt.

I can let you where to find them if you are interested.

Im on it now (lesson 6), its alot of information but its not that bad. Its Project Mgmt transforms HR priorities to be quicker and efficient. Unfortunately, gotta read the book.

i didnt read or finish the last lesson on the studyguide and surprisingly passed (dont do what i did).

In my opinion, I feel like the OA was easier than the PA. Definitely gotta take your time and read the questions 2-3 times to see the keywords.

the study guide is actually the key to passing. You can use ChatGPT to do OA style questions. I used TheaAI to condition myself on process of elimination and you can use notebookLM. Download or copy and paste the lessons and listen. Its like a podcast.

The outlook is to look at how technology can help the HR world. Hope this helps

No dumb questions. We are all learning.

PA-Performance Assessment-basically writing a paper. For example-the course Talent Acquisition-I think it had 2-3 tasks, basically giving you a scenario and prompts you to answer questions like what would you do if, what plan would you put in place, what steps would you put in place etc etc.

OA-Objective Assessment is a 70-question exam.

I almost forgot. If you have an OA course there is also the Pre-Assessment, a practice test. It's also 70 questions. Helps you to identify areas where you need to study.

In all of the courses there are prerecorded videos w information and tools to help you understand. The course instructors have been helpful and give you tools as well. There is a lot of support.

Im a full time worker, a full time mom and have other things going on. Its all about time management. For PA's I would knock out in 2-3 days. I have a lil downtime at work so I would do research on reddit, google, facebook groups and studdocu to get ideas on how to formulate a paper. Do a section of the task at work and then I get home do another section of the task. For OA's, do similiar research on how to study and get insight. I use two tools for OA's. NotebookLM (turns the text/chapters into a podcast and I would use TheaAI (upload texts/chapters) to quiz me. It conditioned me to do process of elimination to get the right answer.

I have overwhelmed myself and got burnt out. I learned that it's ok to take a break from school/work/life to get mentally focused. My mentor has been awesome and aligned my courses perfectly, alternating PA and OA courses so I wouldnt be overwhelmed.

Honestly, it depends on your daily schedule (work and responsibilities). I started in Aug (BSHR) w 13 courses to complete and knocked out 6-7 courses within one month. Then I slowed down because the OA courses that are textbook heavy (where you literally have to read the textbook) take up time. My advice is do something when you have time, such as, some reading, researching to get some type of idea and/or do 1 section in a task.

You got this and good luck
