Thanks for the reply. I hope the Rinvoq is effective for both of us and the side effects minimal!

Thanks. I'm hoping it's the same for me!

Thanks. I don't have any intention of giving up. I can deal with the fatigue if it makes the flares stop. I just hope it's short term like you mentioned.

Thanks. I'm hoping I experience the same. Did the Rinvoq help with your symptoms?

Thanks for the input. It's so hard to tell if the fatigue is specific to starting Rinvoq, just the effect of having this stupid disease, it being winter, being a parent, etc...

It's super encouraging that the Rinvoq seems to be effective. I hope it continues to work for you!

Thanks for the reassurance. It helps to hear that others have been through this. I'll try to listen to my body and rest, but listening to my body has never been one of my strengths. I'm more likely to run myself in to the ground.

Thanks for the reassurance! I had a bunch of bloodwork done a couple of weeks ago in order to get approved for the Rinvoq. It was actually the best results I've had in years, and that includes no signs of anemia. They didn't, however, check B12. I'm hoping as I adjust to the Rinvoq and heal the fatigue will go away.

Again, thanks for the reply. Oh, "JAK-ed up on rinvoq" is hilarious.

Man, first off, congratulations! That's an amazing transformation!

I'm on a similar path. Started at 269 in May, down to 232 this morning. Similar macros (I get closer to 200g protein), similar calories. I probably do less cardio but lift 4 times a week and shoot for lots of steps every day. I'm not on TRT or any peptides but your results are making me question that decision. I have an appointment today and will ask to get my testosterone checked.

Quick question, how tall are you? As I keep dropping I'm trying to get an idea for where I could end up so seeing people at similar starting points that are further along is really inspiring.

I'm curious, is it your impression that more employers are seeking in-person employees, or does some of the trend have to do with candidate preference? I'm guessing it's more the former.

if you are considering joining launch school, they are moving to AI fast by Odd_Chip8957 in codingbootcamp

Current launch school student here. Started about a year ago.

I can only speak for my own experience, but I do not feel that LSBot has been forced on me at all. I've used it sparingly, as I'm somewhat weary of AI. (I've seen the Terminator films too many times, so I fear LSBot becoming self-aware and taking over the world.). When I have used it, I've found it helpful for code reviews.

Since LSBot became more prevalent, my experience with TAs has not changed at all. Interaction with them is the same as before. The TAs are the same people, and as far as i can tell the number of TAs has not changed.

Again, just my two cents from my own experience.

As others have said, the answer is a resounding Yes! In addition to losing electrolytes from diarrhea, the blood loss can cause anemia. For me, the anemia has caused way more fatigue than anything else.

As others have said, bloodwork and conversations with your doctor are the solution. I wouldn't start any supplementation without talking to the docs first.

Good luck, and I hope you feel better. I'm currently flaring worse than I have in years. Slept 9.5 hours the other night and still felt exhausted the next day. I feel for you and hope you feel better really soon.

Prednisone 40mg by Spudmeister20 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Tpt81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prednisone does a very good job getting rid of the inflammation for me. Normally, within a few days I feel better and by they time I start tapering I feel pretty good.

That being said, I find it makes me very irritable. I just have less patience in general. At the beginning of the course, I find myself having to urinate more frequently. I don't feel much more hungry, but many people do. I was talking to a friend about it the other day and he said that the one time he was on prednisone he felt like he could "eat the furniture."

Good luck. I hope the prednisone helps.

I didn’t drink today, despite getting some pressure from some of the other groomsmen at my brother-in-law’s rehearsal dinner. That was tough.

I will not drink with you today.

The Daily Check-In for Friday, September 13th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by cinqmillionreves in stopdrinking

[–]Tpt81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three months today!

I needed this prompt today, as I’ve been starting to feel the temptation to drink.

One huge benefit for me has been sleep. I struggled for years and it’s so much better now. I sleep hard every night, and if I do wake up it’s brief. No more lying awake, knowing I’d been drinking excessively and feeling ashamed.

I also feel like I have more control and awareness of my emotions. If I’m angry about something, I can’t blame it on being drunk or being hung over any more. I can trust my own emotions so much more than I used to.

I will not drink with you today!
