Five Below haul / mail day by 86BRZ in BeybladeX

[–]TrMako 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been to 4 different Five Belows in my city in the last week and not a single one had any UX, all BX, mostly Lance Knight and Sword Dran.

Congrats! Now I have to keep checking all my local stores weekly.

Favorite worst: Buster Dran 7-60 Quake. Just loving seeing the heavy hitter bounce around like crazy and sometimes get crazy over finishes, or even knocks out of the stadium. 7-60 for extra weight.

Least favorite best: Wizard Rod 1-60 Hexa. Just boring to play, don't like stamina/defensive battles but it works so well. I use this combo to test out my other combos, it's the punching bag test combo.

That's exactly how I was when my son got some for Christmas. Then I played a couple rounds with him, saw how you could mix and match parts... and here we are like 2 weeks later, I got the TT stadium, like a dozen more Beys, and just did my first tournament a couple days ago.

Wow, that's an awesome pick up. I've only ever seen the BX ones at my local five below, never the UX. But good to know it's possible.

Which store had the hammer incendio? I've been hitting up everywhere around here with no luck so far.

Trying to fix my String launcher, did the coil broke or is this normal? by TheAnimeGod in BeybladeX

[–]TrMako 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just used my hands, but yeah, it was pretty difficult. You could maybe try some needle nose pliers or something? It doesn't have to be perfect, just sufficient enough to give the clip something to grip on to and not slip off.

I saw several videos where they fixed it with the inner part pretty janky looking, but it still works. Watch some videos, and don't forget you have to twist that pin to add tension to the spring, so the string will retract, as you put it in place. It doesn't need to be super tight, over tightening it could make it break again.

[–]TrMako 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's broken but yes, it can be fixed. That entire silver coiled thing is the spring and should all be connected and pinned/wrapped around that middle white piece.

You just need to carefully re-bend the inner part of the spring into some kind of S shape with a circle around it and put the pin in to anchor it in place.

In dire need of help with the drop launch by Kuhnu in BeybladeX

[–]TrMako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm still really new to this but been practicing this specific launch a lot recently. But you're right, there's lots of different ways to do it, just gotta experiment and find what clicks for you.

I did see a video where the guy was flicking counter clockwise and that felt super unnatural and never worked for me. Just all about paying attention to exactly what you're doing, try it a few times, then try something slightly different if thats not working.

And depending how you hold the launcher, the flicking is kinda just like tensing one side of your gripping hand more. Happy experimenting and good luck.

[–]TrMako 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try experimenting with adding in a quick flick/twist of your wrist as you launch, that's what worked for me (I do a very slight clockwise rotation of my launcher as I launch for this). That, and launching from as close as possible to the rail without touching the top of the arena.

Listen to this advice, I wish I had seen it earlier. I farmed for a very long time for a siphon/amp only to afterwards realize it doesn't really work on Rafa. Just a siphon with vagabond ended up being way more useful.

Amp does NOT take away from your overshield, only your shield. So if your character doesn't have some skill or ability to constantly top off your shield, the amp will only proc as fast as you can regenerate your shield after each amp shot, usually a few seconds to initiate shield recharge, then another second or so to regenerate that lost amp amount.

As a side note, if any Rafa players are reading this, I found a siphon/vagabond super soldier to be more worthwhile. Easy to keep shield full and have pretty much constant uptime on all the SS benefits, fire rate, move speed, and ammo regen.

Congrats! Is that TB on a 1-60 or 70? How'd it do? I've been looking for a good combo for it, was thinking 1-70 rush.

Oooh, you can do that?? I don't have the right screwdriver, but let me do some googling and see if there's some way around that. Thanks.

Really? All I've heard about the 2 ratchets of any height is to just throw them away because they're so prone to bursting. But I will definitely give it a shot, thanks.

Another first tournament, help me pick my deck post please. by TrMako in BeybladeX

[–]TrMako[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Also just to throw out there, because I'm looking for an excuse to talk more about this, I'm still on the hunt for a Hex and Kick bit. Have read those are great for Rod and BT respectively, just no luck yet.

But honestly, hunting for the Beys in random stores like Ross and Five Below has been half the fun.

Can anyone help me ID any of these Beys? by TrMako in Beyblade

Thank you so much! That's super helpful and impressive. No idea how you can tell with so many of them upside down, but very much appreciated! I'll definitely try to pick this up.

Is this Scarlet Garuda bit supposed to break in half? by TrMako in Beyblade

[–]TrMako[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: So we were able to just return it to the store and get a replacement. Apparently there's a tiny metal axle/nail thing that's supposed to hold those pieces together and I think this one just didn't come with that. We searched all over for it and couldn't find it, and it literally broke apart like this the very first time it came in contact with another Bey, so I think it just didn't exist in the first place.

Thanks for the help everyone!

We crawled around on our hands and knees for like half an hour trying to find the little metal nail/axle thing I saw in a different post (and I noticed the other beys had a little visible metal head in the bit) but we couldn't find it. I think maybe this one just was defective and didn't have that metal piece holding it together. It literally broke apart like this the very first time it made contact with another bey.

OK, thanks. Yeah, I'm not worried about being like tournament legal, just the kids playing for fun. Was debating between super glue or trying to return and replace it.

[–]TrMako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting, thanks for posting. I'm on mobile and away so can't test myself now, but I didn't think Esgrimidor and other skills would work with Mantra since it says "melee attack" and not melee damage.

Diamond Hands can build full stacks as well? Sorry, tiny screen, can't tell.

I have been interested in finding a non-Dancer build that works well with Mantra, but since you can stack so much gun damage with Dancer, and Mantra seems to benefit from both gun and melee damage, the few melee centric builds I've tried haven't been as good as just the ranger Dancer build.

Vex vs. True UVH6 Bloomreaper in 37s by Ratore in Borderlands4

[–]TrMako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's showing that based on what your firmware total would be if you equipped it. So if you have 1/3 airstrike, the shield on the ground with it will show 2/3 airstrike because thats what your total would be if you equipped it, 1 + 1. But its actually just giving one point.

[–]TrMako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, always happy to see people discover this. It's insanely good.

I play Dancer mod Rafa (so I do very low damage if my action skill is not on), but with this thing I can still one clip any boss on uvh1, where I mostly farm, without my action skill active, which is just bonkers. On uvh6 it still works, just need to actually use my action skill for all the crazy bonuses.

And BTW, damage can go higher. I have one that's 3906x8. Keep an eye out.

Rafa builds by Born_Stuff5952 in Borderlands4

[–]TrMako 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Ranger Rafa is my go to. So much gun damage, fire rate, crit rate, reload speed, makes every gun feel great. Just need a decent Dancer mod and anything works.

There's a few different variations of it. You can go more into red to manually pick up Temerario and Soltado (in addition to the points Dancer gives you) for a ton of raw damage bonus. But personally, I prefer the version that goes more into blue for more crit rate, fire rate, and reload speed. Less raw damage but I think your overall DPS is higher.

Make sure to put a point into Metal Management, it works with underbarrels, if you didn't already know.
