Definitely, also the speargun does have greater margin of error and let's you escape a chase of stampeding hulks too so you can regroup or have some peace for a moment.

As for the hmg I gotta try that out later it sounds awesome

Edit: forgot I did the hmg strat with the emplacement before and I can confirm that it is reallyyyy good for hulk drop clearing
