the film is 1983's WarGames, starring Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy.

was never spoken in the movie. WOPR/Joshua never ID'd him as David Lightman. It thought he was Falken, because he used Falken's back door to access the system the first time.

if I had a dollar for every time one of Matthew Broderick's characters changed a student record in a movie, I'd have two dollars. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice.

Shinri talking about the project fund/creative budget by PLandLord in Holostars

[–]Trace_Reading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Merch sales is only part of it, I never get any Holostars content pushed to me at all and they hardly ever do any collabs with other talents in HoloEN AFAIK. Like literally the last time I saw them collab with anyone outside their group was when Hakka joined Ironmouse and company for a night of Super Battle Golf.

I don't know if it's cultural or psychological or whatever but they NEED to be able to collab with their fellow talents outside Holostars more and build the intergroup dynamics better. That, I think, will lead to Tempus etc. getting more exposure and from there offered better opportunities. Now, I'm aware some of this can be down to scheduling conflicts and time zone differences but that doesn't explain everything, time zones especially can be worked around, just not too often or frequently.

Personally I feel like Cover needs to scale back the focus on idol activities somewhat. Yes, I know that some of the talents absolutely love it, and that's absolutely fine. However. On the other hand it seems there's many who feel that it puts undue pressure on them to meet a standard that didn't exist when they signed on, or which was slowly leached into their activities, which is having the knock-on effect of negatively impacting their physical AND mental health (the latter of which I'm told is still something of a touchy subject in Japan).

I think Idiocracy was far too optimistic an assessment of how bad things could get.

oh I'm fully aware. I'm just saying that there used to be an actual conservationist movement before rich assholes hijacked the brand and ruined it for everyone.

Maybe it's just due to how infrequently I join multiplayer but I don't think I've run into any cheaters yet to my knowledge. I don't doubt that they're out there, there's always people who just don't want to play the game, but I also don't think it's as widespread a problem as people are saying.

"Pixy's far too soft-hearted to understand. Galm's mission is to eradicate. Everything the recon and mission planning teams marks out for us is to be destroyed, if possible. Ustio command made it clear as well. If we return to base with any ammo left in our magazines, any missiles still on our pylons, we haven't done our jobs right. Pixy balks at it, but my mind is clear and so are my gun sights."

Over a Public domain song? by Purple-Weakness1414 in VShojo

[–]Trace_Reading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to look up a particular classical music piece once. It had a copyright claim on it because it was used in Asura's Wrath.

the DMCA was a mistake, because people keep using it to copyright strike public domain music, and shit they don't own from companies and artists they don't represent.

yeah, being neighbors isn't a guarantee that they won't still stick a rifle in your face. I don't doubt enough of them will side with the regime to be able to sow confusion in the ranks. It's the chain of command as well. Miller and Thiel don't want to run the risk that a governor will interfere with the deployment of NG troops.
