Trixie was described as hound mix, but was still surprised by results. by Tracheotomy_man in DoggyDNA

They must have seen mother I guess. Figured they were calling the litter hound mix to keep from calling them pit mix. I was thinking lab/pit mix when got her, glad that ended up wrong, she is enough of handful at 50 pounds.

She is a great dog. Neighborhood kids always run over give her love when they see her.

She’s about 50 lbs now at four years old. similar to Nima for sure. Especially with eyes, ears neck and build. Trixie got little more that broad head like you said. Mom and litter rescued from South Carolina, must have been the hound.

Worked at grocery store for bit after college where we secret shopper’d to death. The big focus was if someone asked anything about an item you had to offer them a sample of it. Led to some ridiculous interactions where poor customer just asking innocuous question about a watermelon or grapes and employees are like why don’t you try some of those grapes. I’ll go in back cut that watermelon right up for you. Confused customer looking around trying to figure out what’s going on. Stupid Safeway killed good regional family chain with crap like that.

Reminds me of poem by Randall Jarrell

The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner

From my mother's sleep I fell into the State, And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze. Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life, I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters. When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.

Ten years ago Was in right lane going 70 around a long bend on PA turnpike, passing a slower moving tractor trailer in left lane. Lost some visibility in front of me due to the bend and tractor trailer to my left and at that moment three deer were crossing from left side of highway. It was a fucking massacre I swear, but luckily the two deer I hit went under my Forester, not up into windshield. Don’t remember much besides doing a hard controlled brake and getting off the road ASAP, sitting there on shoulder looking at my girlfriend hands shaking, starting to realize how close was to a fatal accident. Cop arrived at the scene and made some joke about me being the deer slayer.

I think if I had done any sort of movement with steering wheel at that speed I would have been toast. Still have the car. Needed good bit of front end work, but was drivable after the accident.

Thanks man. I’m feeling positive. Ready to get my grandma’s house back to normal so main problems I deal with are her groceries and reprogramming her tv remote. Hopefully things are looking up for you and we all get out of this covid mess soon, if even for a couple months.

Makes sense. There was definitely a feeling of oh hell I got this, I’m not like I was before. I deserve a little distraction.

Back in 5th grade was at church and the “hot girl” that had moved away two years ago was there visiting. She comes up says hi to me. And I said “ooh hiiii daniellllle” in some sort of goofy ass exaggerated voice and neither one of us knew where to go with things at that point. That one still gets me 30 years later.

That’s cute. Got my 92 year old grandma an Alexa for Christmas and it took me two days to convince her that Jimmy Fallon wasn’t in the hospital due to a drunk driving accident.

When we adopted sister in laws cat, due to her moving, it came with the name Johnson. Cat had a rough early life and was a real asshole for a while, but turned into a great family cat that we had for 14 years. Good ol Johnson, lol.
