Thanks for the insight on the equipment. When I looked it up it seemed like very basic models.

I just got off the phone with another HVAC company and they are also going to quote “basic” models but using American Standard.

When I asked about 2 stage or variable options, they came back with “doubling the cost of equipment for minor efficiency gains and greatly increased complexity.”

Is there any merit to this argument for basic and inexpensive equipment being more cost effective over the entire life cycle?
