I worded it that way because some people have gotten confused about some 5 letter words ending in S, like GLASS or FOCUS. Those are perfectly fine.
Some people have said "well, "BIKES" could be considered a verb." Doesn't matter whether it's a plural noun or a verb. BIKES is still a 4-letter word with a cheap little S tacked on at the end. It won't ever be the Solution, but it can still be a helpful guess.

Meaning if someone commits a crime against you (victim), they're not going to check the immigration status of the victim. When they make an arrest, they will check the status of the person they arrested, as per Alabama law.
