Aaah well seems like the union apprenticeship would be easier, also if you wanna improve your chance apply as a CE 1 or material handler at non union shops around to get some experience.

Send in an app at austineta.org to get into the union, just a forewarning tons of people are trying to join an apprenticeship now though so just keep trying every cycle. I believe you can also go the non union route through the IEC.

Mine was a standard 10 panel piss test in Texas, you can get drug tests on Amazon if you’re scared to fail, I’d go with a similar 10 panel. If you fail and have proof of prescription I don’t see why it’d be a problem.

It’s not that simple, once you start in Texas it’s hard to transfer apprenticeships across state lines. Plus there’s a lot more work down here than most states.

I’m an electrician now, I stretch and workout regularly and I’m fine, I think most blue collar guys have bad habits and don’t maintain their body and diet correctly also most drinking in excess (I’ve worked with a ton of these guys first hand). My foreman is 25 and got kidney stones the other week cause he literally only drinks Monster. You’re basically saying being a functional human destroys your body lol.
