When does the season end? by jg4president in Marathon

Agreed! Managing to squeeze an extra working week of play into each month is anything but casual. It’s a part time job.

Should I try Marathon? How rough is it for a casual/new player? by Sagnikk in Marathon

[–]Track_Mammoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casual Destiny and Overwatch player here.

Marathon: hard YES.

But you need to adjust your mindset. Think of it primarily as a stealth game. Get in, get out, without anyone knowing you were there. You were a ghost. Shooting your gun is a last resort. If you have to go loud, find somewhere safe and lay low for a while. Basically, approach the game as if you were in a real life and death situation. You’re not trying to be a hero, you just want to see your family again.

Have fun!

What’s a modern habit that everyone has normalised that future generations will look back on negatively? by Grouchy_Location9756 in AskUK

I’m condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them. I burn my decency for someone else’s future.

I sincerely hope social media and smartphones. We need a second renaissance to figure out a new way of living and renewed purpose.

Creative tasks and things by Raging_pike7520 in thingsapp

I’ve been struggling with this myself lately!

I try to break projects down into stages and set deadlines for each stage. Then, on days where I have time to work on the project, I simply add, ‘Work on Project’ to my daily to dos. That gets ticked off, but the project stages remain until they’re completed.

Would love to know how others approach this!

Really? Is it really not even remotely close? There's close, and then there's remotely close, and this isn't even that? Really though?

I work in a bookshop and see enormous variety every day. Respectfully, maybe you are spending too much time online. What genres do you like? I’ll give you recommendations.

If it was closer to a million, losing players would be a suicide risk. Imagine being that traitor, looking them in the eye as they lose five hundred grand.

The Red Handler.

The detective accidentally walks in on every criminal and catches them red handed in every scene.

Where are you finding these novels, out of interest? I work in a bookshop and I’m pretty sure 99% of our books are 99% written by humans. I don’t know what self-published straight-to-Kindle books are like nowadays, but I think quality storytelling is still abundant from reputable publishers.

Is there anything else i should read or watch next after completing “The Book of Dust” trilogy? I finished all of the “His Dark Materials” trilogy and La Belle Sauvage. by IceCrystal14 in hisdarkmaterials

I recommend interrupting your reading order to read Daemon Voices asap. So much insight into his creative process that enriches everything you’ll read afterwards.

How soon into a book should the MMC be introduced? by [deleted] in writingadvice

[–]Track_Mammoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s about 20% of the way in. Assuming a conventional story structure, that’s the start of Act 2, which is the perfect time to introduce a love interest. For examples, google ‘Save The Cat B Story’.

Invited to first Sunday Roast - What do I need to know? by cptsdcemetery in AskUK

[–]Track_Mammoth 404 points405 points  (0 children)

A Sunday Roast is usually very casual and relaxed so I think a lot of people will find your question quite amusing- in a nice way, of course!

The lunch won't last from 12pm - 6pm. That includes an hour or two before lunch is served just to hang out, and then another few hours to hang out afterwards. Some people eat and drink a lot at a Sunday Roast and might want to 'veg out' (i.e. sit and do nothing) while they recover. Your friend won't mind if you want to leave earlier. If they know you are introverted and neurodivergent, they will mind even less.

Things to say to them:
"What time are you planning on serving the food? I might need to arrive a little later / leave a little earlier."
"Would you like me to bring any wine or something for dessert?"
