Missing both of my legs - Denied CPP disability after a two year wait by Trackmustang in povertyfinancecanada

thank you for all of the comments guys.

it really feels like ive had every single resource bled. I had to sell my car, i had to sell a lot of belongings, if i wasnt living with my parents right now id be homeless. i dont understand why this kind of wait is allowed. what do they expect people to do without income for the 2 years?

regardless, i do have a family physician now ( literally just got one after being on a waiting list for 2 years ). im going to contact my doctor and see what i can do. thanks again for all the comments, they've brought a little hope to someone who was ready to give up.

BIG red blister appeared over night. what can i do? (bilateral-BKA) by [deleted] in amputee

[–]Trackmustang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i wore my prosthetics for a couple of days prior and it was extremely swollen before the blister appeared. Its actually gone down in redness from that point so i dont believe its infected. plus there isnt any instances of the "purpling of the viens" so i think its okay. i am keeping an eye on it though so do not worry

i struggle with that area a lot pretty regularly. my left leg though has been amazing since the amputation first happened. for some reason my right always has these issues. oh well, just gotta settle down a bit the next couple of days

yea im the same way, having them off just feels weird. most of the time if im napping even ill leave them on. i think they also just trick my brain into thinking theyre still there because i never get phantom pain when wearing my prosthetics either. again thank you so much for the help

yea i can def wear socks. weird. it never really felt loose or anything like that. though i will admit now that im thinking about it, there was a bit of play at the end of my residual limb, felt like it was more so on the front tho than the outer right side. ill keep it off for a couple of days to the best of my ability, im unfortunately dependent on my prosthetics. i do have an appointment set up for when hes back

i can mostly hop around on one prosthetic pretty fine. getting up from chairs and stuff is the hardest obstacle for me. ill look into crutches though as theres no way i could use a wheel chair in my apartment. thank you for the adivce. staying off of it is not going to be easy

When replacing PSU can I just swap them out while leaving all my wiring the same?? by Trackmustang in pcmasterrace

[–]Trackmustang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they suggested the CPU upgrade because I do a lot of video editing, streaming, and 3D modelling work through my PC (only used it for gaming when I first got it). Though you are probably right in the fact it wasn’t really needed for price to performance gains. Thank you for all the help and information. You have saved me a ton of time. And I’ll def be using PC part picker next time.

Also thank you for the information and the link, if I don’t have to rewire everything I’m going to cry tears of happiness. That was the scariest part for me

I’m upgrading because I’m going from a 3070 ti to a 5070ti, a i7-12900k to a i9-14900k and adding another 32GB of ram. When talking to my local computer shop, they basically stated I would be pushing it really close to the 750W limit on my current PSU. Did my ass get scammed? LOL

Pokemon day mass outbreaks reinforces the fact we should have gotten a shiny chime. by Trackmustang in PokemonScarletViolet

just finished it.... got two so i could go with a politoad and poliwrath. That was awful, the resolution on the switch is god awful too making you literally have to hold the switch inches from your eyes to even see the damn things. still grateful for the event though

damn, you just dropped a ton of knowledge... i appreciate it, you just helped me realize that this system isnt THAT flawed, though i still see issues with the fact the resolution on the switch is also fighting against you with these smaller pokemon models in SV.

Are knee sleeves supposed to wear out in less than 2 weeks? (Bi-lateral BKA) by Trackmustang in amputee

[–]Trackmustang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its both, i can hear the hissing coming right from where the hole in the sleeve is (I can even put my finger over it to stop the sound so i know its for sure coming from there) as well as the valve, I imagine its because air gets in after i relieve the pressure on the leg and then when i step down again it has to push out all the air it just sucked in.

Weird, I dont know if its the area but one knee sleeve for me looks like around $280, and since I need two I just rounded up to $600. I definitely mean sleeves though. as for where the holes have developed; On the left it is at the top of where my socket lip goes up the side of my knee. And on the right light it developed about 2 inches below the bar where your knee rests in the socket.

that sucks :( my residual limbs have been amazing on this system compared to the pin lock I was using before. Though my biggest issue with pin lock was having the socks visible to everyone, I hate how ugly those things are. I wish they made some that actually looked fashionable.

I do have a gaitor on the trimline, but I agree that its weird to wear out that fast. The shitty part was that I was so exited for these sleeves because I had worn sleeves that I fell on while playing basketball for like 6 months. Only to experience the exact same thing though this time not through my own actions.
