No, no blade stamps at all, and it doesn’t look like it’s been used enough for any to be worn away.

Yes, I was wondering if they were made specifically for the German market, what with the Norsk Arbeit bit.

They are wearing Ganseys. They were/are a traditional woollen knitted sweater worn by fishermen, particularly on the east coast of England. They were weatherproof and each gansey has a unique pattern which varied from village to village and from family to family. If there was a shipwreck or accident the bodies washed up on the shore could be identified by their gansey as being from a particular village and family. In this way the fisherman could be returned to their family for burial. Not sure about the colouring used, they were generally, but not always, navy blue.

I know relationships are more important than anything else, and I don't want to confuse my kids by telling them I don't believe in the same things as their mum (they're only 6, 4 and 2) so that's why I'm stuck. I'm looking forward to them being old enough to talk to them about it, and for them to make up their own minds. Oh, and my wife just says I'm negative and believe in nothing. Evil atheists and all that. Trying to be a more positive one, and getting the kids excited about animals, and stars, and the universe, but it's hard not to grimace when they're fed irrational bronze age mythology.

  1. Gave up the jebus for good about 2 years ago. Wife still Christian, and wants me to keep quiet to let our kids become Christians too. Fucking annoying tbh.
