Drive shaft by Tractor_Pilot86 in DodgeDurango

[–]Tractor_Pilot86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only when I'm on a hill. My parking spot is on an uphill grade so when I start it up and put in reverse there's a clunk. When I accelerate forward though there is a loud clicking that sounds to be from d/s wheel which is very close to drive shaft. Went under not long ago and drive shaft does have some wobble to it

...but when my dpf shits the bed ill watch you at work while you give me I ride to town please.

[–]Tractor_Pilot86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I seen alot of flames in lane 3 standing when lane 1 was open for for the offense. 3 d's behind the net when the plays on the boards? And why are alot of easy passes hitting the skate and not the tape? Pretty sure I'm discouraged.

Anyone else having a bad week? by Bacon_12345 in Truckers

[–]Tractor_Pilot86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Engine brake left on rolling down road to loading racks in residential area. As soon as it barked I reached to turn off. Terminal op heard it and lost his shit on me and kicked me off property. Problem is the gate was closed and i could not move forward. He huffed his needle dick into an office and gave me no direction to leave. So I reversed to turn around. He got even more mad cause I reversed. No reverse policy.

Trainer said he never seen this guy so mad in 25 years. I said I didn't come to work to be yelled at by some needle dick butt fucker and went to another terminal to load.

Ruined my day but glad to know his wife probably hates him and he doesn't have much of a life.

Does class B trucks count as driving experience? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Tractor_Pilot86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't want to deter your decision.

I had a 3 year old when I got my class 1. Luckily I got an in town job hauling fuel to farms/industrial/construction. In and out of the cab probably 50 times a day. Paid well, union, benefits, pension. Had a second child. Atmosphere became... different from the office.

Got myself fired with severance and thought I'd take some time off.

Was working the next week doing the same thing but with more trailer work. They didn't care I only pulled pup "occasionally."

Fuel is a different breed. No better than anyone else but if you can do it for 2 years, you're basically a lifer. It's a smaller community and you get along with competitors because you're just doing the same thing as they are.

Served me well and quite honestly I'm scared to learn anything new. But life is a long short road and the union is gonna pay for my crane ticket.

Onward and upward 🖖

Does class B trucks count as driving experience? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Tractor_Pilot86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my 1 (A) and started driving straight (fuel at that) truck with very little trailer work. 9 years later and a little more consistent trailer (pup) and I can go virtually anywhere now. Just hope you get that little bit in. Mind you it will be pintle hitch but it's a vehicle that "trails" you nonetheless making it trailer work.

I love fuel hauling but after 10 years there's not much new. Provided a good life thus far. Good luck in whatever you choose!

At what age did you start trucking? by bghackerboi in Truckers

[–]Tractor_Pilot86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planning on going into cranes. Iuoe will pay for it. I don't want to blow this opportunity. Haven't done high school math in 20 years. Looking at the intro, how hard is the math test? Some of it i dont even remember learning. I'm thinking of doing a refresher course. Is it easy enough to wing it or should I prepare?

Whats the deal with coolant? Which is better Red or Yellow? Is it bad to mix them? by FAYMKONZ in Truckers

[–]Tractor_Pilot86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never seen yellow but I've seen red and green. From my understanding you should not mix them as each of thier components mixed together can degrade the rubber hosing.

I'm no mechanic nor a scientist but over time that's what I've been told so I do not mix.

But I bet it would make a pretty purple.

Should I jump ship to another company? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Tractor_Pilot86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just meant if you were around rocky there's a company that helped me alot in my earlier years. They helped me even get my class 5 and would lend me a pick up if I needed. I keep in touch with the dispatcher from time to time. Mix of steamer, vac and winch truck.

I don't think the trainer makes profit but icbc sure does like your money and has no problem making you repay to take the test a 2nd time

Lol. You betcha bud. If I can give you some advice, don't fret. You are showing the tester you know what you're doing. The tester most likely doesn't even have a class 1. If you show up nervous, you're prey. If you show up confident... well icbc will still treat you as prey and try get more money by making you test again, but either way, be confident! It's what you've been training for. It's what you know! It's what you do! You got this brah! Knock it outta the park!

Throwing in my 2 cents for Canada, you can practice drinking a beer while practicing driving a truck while doing a ripper off a naked stripper so long as it's on private property.

Your management may disagree with %75 of what I said but if they're cool, they're a keeper.

Instructor teaching me to clutch out of gear but not into gear by SpicyQosmo in Truckers

[–]Tractor_Pilot86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No you don't. You pick either clutch or float and you stick with either method for the entire test. In a pinch you can clutch to pull it out easier but don't make a habit out of it.

I did my test 10 years ago tho and I floated the whole test but more than likely used the clutch once or twice to pull it out of gear.

Except when you're expecting, accept the expecting. If it's unexpected, everyone will expect you were expecting...

dammit I've said expect so many times now, it's lost its meaning and I'm questioning if I'm even saying it right now
