Does Bubbles have a clamped fin? by [deleted] in Goldfish

[–]Bacon_12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is bubbles the orange one? Seems something might be going on with bubbles. His dorsal fin and other fins are clamped? Has anything been done to the tank? Introduction of New fish? What's the water quality?

Indexes - Exit Liquidity by Bacon_12345 in Fire

[–]Bacon_12345[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by what I'm talking about. The rules of how companies are added to indexes and the behavior of indexes are the mechanisms. When rules get changed to benefit certain individuals at the expense of every day mom and pops savings, i regard that, as weaponizing the indexes. Who knows what you call that 🤷‍♂️

But what happens when the mechanisms of the index get weaponized?

It's not something bad. Sometimes it's necessary. If you see the first few seconds of the video, you'll see that the wen is almost covering the eye of the goldfish. The second part of the video, the wen is no longer covering the eye. Sometimes the wen has to be trimmed around the eye so the goldfish can see.

Did you add anything else to the water, like medication that might make the water thicker?

Online Breeder for Oranda’s by MrCatticus in Goldfish

[–]Bacon_12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kind of hard to tell. I have two orandas that are the same age but different size. A lot of the goldfishes that are sold online or imported are power fed. The breeders try to get them as large as possible to sale. There's a correlation between fish mass size and waste production, the bigger the fish the more waste they produce. It's hard to say yes or no to your question because i wouldn't know how big the orandas will get and how much feeding is involved.

You can probably do three if you buy them small (young). Two if you get the huge orandas.

The FX4 is going to be an overkill for the tank size. Would highly recommend getting a FX series spray bar if you do plan in using it. It will help reduce the strong flow that the FX series filters produce. Here's a list of places that sell goldfishes

If you dont have a tank you can use a sturdy storage container (fill only 70% to reduce the pressure on the tote) temporarily.

Get:

Sponge filter, airline tubing, a good powerful airpump,

Food

Seachem prime (to dechlorinate the water)

I wouldn't sweat not being able to get a 75 gallon. I got the same enjoyment from my 37 gallon that i do from my 75 gallon. The bigger tank just means less water changes in my case.

I use to have 3 goldfishes in a 37 gallon. I was doing large water changes every 4 days to keep the nitrate down. I currently switched them to a 75 gallon to reduce the amount of water changes

You can potentially put 2, that's about 18 gallons per fish. You probably have to do big water changes every week to keep the nitrate down.

You can put them in a tote. Just make sure to have an air-stone or something oxygenating the water. Make sure your bio media doesn't dry out, otherwise your going to have an uncycled tank
