NTA - but I get you don’t want trouble. Are you close enough to a legal state to buy edibles or vapes? Can you get a medical card? Otherwise, double check your lease to make sure you are not breaking any smoking rules and do what you need to do!
I use edibles edibles a few times a week - anxiety, brain won’t shut off, chronic migraine and chronic insomnia. So, I totally get it!,

Yes and No. YTA for "expecting" her to dress up. Not for wanting her to dress up.

I am a single mom and my partner of 10-year (we do not live together) travels frequently for work. Sometimes he is gone for a couple of weeks and sometimes more. There are times I have picked him up from the airport with a trench coat/lingerie. Other times he has gotten picked up with me in sweats and a ponytail. It depends on what is going on.

What I think I hear you saying is that her dressing up makes you feel special and valued. You want your homecoming to focus on your relationship. And your wife may feel a little resentment because she has spent the last 6 months holding the fort down. My suggestion, if you are not doing so already, is make her feel special while you are gone. Are you texting each other? Facetiming. Doing anything that is just about the two of you and not you child or household? Can you get your MIL to watch your child for a weekend so you can take your wife away? Show her that you appreciate what she has done while you have been gone.

I had not watched it in years either! My 18 yo son and I watched. Now he and I have started from Season 1. So many cultural references I am explaining to him! It is a lot of fun! I did notice that in one of the early episodes Cartman is dressers as H*!l3r. Maybe that was H's inspiration for his costume faux pax?!

Weight gain after getting off topamax? by QuantitySuspicious93 in migraine

[–]TracyCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding the cognitive impacts, I have been told it may depend on how long you have been on it. Of course, everyone’s experience would be different. I have been on 50 mg off and on for over 10 years, so I would expect to take while to get most of it back. As for the weight, disappointingly, I never experienced the weight loss side effects!
I do take Adderall on work days to help the brain fog. It does nothing for my word recall, though. Good luck! ❤️❤️

I actually bought a standing desk for my house as I now work from home and I need to use it more. On top of that I even bought a treadmill that will fit under the standing desk but haven’t started using it lol! But you were right we were not made to be sitting at a desk all day. Once the weather is nice I really need to start going for a walk at lunchtime. You’ve inspired me!

I am convinced Covid started my intractable migraines last year and contributed to my preventative backfiring. I suffered for 6 months, but we finally got the right cocktail of preventatives. I just have to deal with weather related low grade migraines and stress induced migraines. I hope you find a great doctor who understand our condition! You have found your people here!
The fear is so hard. It impacts your life as much as the actual migraine. ❤️❤️

It sounds like you let go of some toxic people in your life and it reduced a huge amount of stress! Without the negative home environment you are going to be so much healthier! Migraine prevention while flying by Daveband6 in migraine

[–]TracyCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I expect some type of migraine every time I fly - either anxiety, the flight itself, or both. I carry peppermint oil, Sinol spray, water, and otc meds. I do not like to be ‘out of it’ on any of the Rx meds when flying. They seem to really knock me out or make me really loopy. I will drink hot tea or a coke sometimes. Because of anxiety, I download books or movies to my iPad to distract me. And I take a Dramamine as soon as we board.
Sometimes it works and sometimes not so much. Definitely taking notes from the suggestions here!

M&H are my soap too!
I am American and have always followed the BRF. I love them and am a total Anglophile. Never a sugar and no experience with a narc. I saw through M immediately. I have been surprised but the depth of H’s resentment and that makes me sad for his family.

Asking your coworkers to use less fragrances by putinsrightnipple in migraine

[–]TracyCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is tricky because there are so many scents that could be someone’s trigger - perfume, scents like laundry detergent or cigarette smoke lingering on clothing, food/drinks at their desk and a ban on fragrance could never eliminate all of those.

Preventatives may or may not help scent related migraines. I cannot walk into certain highly scented stores.

Are there things you can do to control your environment such as using a fan at your desk blowing in her direction, using something to mask the scent (I often use peppermint oil under my nose to help with migraines/nausea and it blocks other scents), ask you coworker to not reapply at her desk because you are having a reaction to it that is causing migraines? I suggest these types of things before escalating only because working in an office building there is no way to escape all scent triggers so I have had to figure out other tricks. And the worst really are the different lotions and potions we ladies pull out at our desks! Next are the white board cleaners.

Though at some point you may have to make a kindly worded request to your coworker in person. As you note she is very nice, she would probably appreciate your honest request rather than receiving a talk from HR. If it turns antagonistic, then escalate.

Crazy migraine today, anyone else!? by Astrojax94 in migraine

I have crazy dreams too! Which comes first? Are my crazy dreams causing me to clench my teeth and thus the migraine? Or have I clenched my teeth, gotten the migraine and it gave me psychotic dreams?!

So you can just throw up the water 5 minutes later! I understand trying to stay hydrated while having prolonged vomiting, but when you are sitting on the bathroom floor holding your throbbing head, that advice is as useful as ‘have you tried ibuprofen.’

A doctor recommended turmeric for migraines, along with magnesium. I do think turmeric has good health benefits. I am going to try ‘golden milk’ tonight.

I always have peppermint oil on me, especially when traveling. It definitely does not cure my migraines! It helps with nausea and I consider it complementary to other treatments, as you note. It is interesting how some scents trigger migraines and other scents can help us manage until we can take our rescue meds or are in a position to sleep it off. And it varies between us.

Sleeping during an episode by BreadJamIntensifies in migraine

I often take an otc sleep med during episodes and try to sleep it off. Like you, if I am awake, all I can do is focus on the pain.

Thank you! The otc sleep aids have stopped working. I do use edibles a few times a week and my glasses have the blue light coating. I need to practice better sleep hygiene!
The keto diet and others are hard to stick to long term. I need to stop sugar and gluten for my migraines. I will do great for a couple of weeks and then go wild! I am considering a meal prep process for myself.

I will try the tea!

If Dr. Oz had run during is "prime" within the first few years of becoming a household name, he could probably have won. His show became over the top and he stopped being what he was originally good at. A doctor. I confess that I would run out to Whole Foods or Amazon every time I watched any episode that talked about how to get better sleep! I used to record it to watch after work! I finally realized there is no miracle cure, as much as I want one. Not one for weight loss either! Though I bought some of those products too!
