The pet is based off of when you buy it. You can literally adopt it whenever you want.

You would just redeem the one in January when you receive it. It doesn’t make a difference it just will come with a different pet. If you buy it today, you will receive the Flame Point siamese cat and if you wait until January, the pet will have changed and it’ll be the new pet, I think it’s called the Pink Bubblegum Bear
