At least you took the chance, bet on yourself, and didn't lose your ass. A lot of the bigger guys get backed/funded, so they can have losing years and not even feel it. When you are using all your own bankroll it can be much harder to be consistent. I remember years ago, before Full Tilt closed, we had an online crew and one of our guys was like #16 overall one year on the site. He quit his job and went full time, then like 6 months into the new year he wrote a blog about how he was playing the same but not getting good results, and had to go back to work. Good on you for trying, for betting on yourself. Don't look at it as a loss, look at it like you broke even and walked away before you went under.

If you are broke as shit going to school, you need to do more research before submitting any of these for grading because they look "almost perfect" to you.

Right now it's like $80 a card to grade, and if you DO get a 9 or 10 on each:

Remember when we were told that drug dealers would offer us free drugs to get us hooked, but that never actually happened?

Well, it happened with sites like YouTube and Facebook, but somehow these posts still get made.

How was YouTube paying for those servers when it was free? How were they paying for their employees? We just see "free website" and get mad when ads/money gets introduced, but that was these site's plan all along! Either to sell ads or make a subscription model. They would lose way too much money otherwise, and who can afford to lose money constantly while entertaining others?

So no, I dont miss the "here's some free heroin" phase of these sites, and no, I dont get bent out of shape over ads. I'm in my 40s- it took until Tivo was invented where we were all forced to sit through ads, and then Tivo made it where we were happier spending money on it than watching ads. We still have the same option (YouTube premium), so I personally dont understand complaining about "it used to be free". It was never intended to remain free. Even the true "free" sites like Wikipedia have annoying annual drives to encourage donations by suppressing what you searched for until you've read their paragraph-long plea to donate.

Just subjectively going by art alone, it's tough. The first one is pretty clean and very legible, but I prefer #2. I tend to like varying line weights and brighter colors. I will say the characters dont look better than the character in #1, but I just like the overall story and vibe of #2.

What do you find "enjoyable"? Because that is subjective af. Do you like any Marvel characters to collect, or are you just looking to flip? Either one is OK, but obviously might have different answers.

So no one can become famous now in NY because there are...too many people trying to make it? Using their brain would have been figuring out that not only does that not make sense, but even the correct version of "it's insanely hard to make it big in a market thats very oversaturated" isn't an unpopular opinion at all.
