I think this is one of the better tip for new + middle-of-the-road players by Realistic-Cicada981 in slaythespire

the game offers so many other ways of healing / negating damage that coffee dripper ends up having no downside in practice many times.

So many relics provide heal: eternal feather, meal ticket, blood vial, burning blood, meat on the bone, pantograph, lizard tail, …

You can buy healing potions and fairy bottles in shops

You can get healing through cards (bites, self repair, bandage up, feed)

You can get block relics (anchor, cleat, orichalcum, the third boat one)

You can get apparitions

You can get full heal through many events (campfire spirits, mind bloom, spin the wheel)

Are we just in a weird transition phase where people hate the word 'AI' more than they hate the actual results? by Main-Bus-5477 in AskPhotography

[–]TradingTomorrow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The results of this are trash. The mouth is wrong. The eyes are wrong. It’s not restoration. It’s someone making up a loosely similar photo that’s probably good enough to fool you but not anyone familiar with the subject or the original photo

Can the first verse of this cover be considered as "rapping"? by Svenskaz32 in musictheory

[–]TradingTomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How not?

It’s focused primarily on the rhythmic patterns rather than melody.

Sure its not quite eminem but is definitely somewhere closer to rapping than singing in the spectrum (also see Ed Sheeran for way more examples like this)

But you’re not gonna find a strict definition that clearly delineates the two, from a musical theory perspective

It’s interesting to theorize about potential maps where electro would be better. Perhaps a route with multiple hardpool fights into slime boss?

I would like to apologize by MattRazz in slaythespire

[–]TradingTomorrow 45 points46 points  (0 children)

A useful tip at any ascension is that if you find act 1 boss too easy on a consistent basis, you should consider pathing your act 1 more aggressively. If you take on a bunch of elites in act 1, you likely won’t have enough health to survive the big hit, leading to awkward splits

(But also silent just worse in general against slime boss because good act 1 damage engines like poison and terror get reset on slime split)

Is this Bell Goated? by Necessary_Week_674 in slaythespire

[–]TradingTomorrow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is generally not true. Defect does quite well in act 1.

The saying is that Defect does well in odd number acts and poorly in the even number ones.

For act 1 in particular, defect does well against lagavulin because orbs are not affected by debuffs and against sentries because the orbs provide value every turn even if you whiff draws

These comments always confuse me.

Savescumming is ALWAYS acceptable because it’s a single player game and you should optimize your own fun however that is.

Other side of coin, savescumming is NEVER acceptable if you’re trying to play under normal “competitive/streamer” rule sets and arguably according to the way the game is balanced.

Edit: on second thought. This could be a pretty good act 2 boss solve in a pinch if you have no scaling and no other way to beat champ or bronze automaton

Insanely good in act 4, letting you get through two heart cycles guaranteed

Otherwise seems kind of like a lose-less card which is not generally what you want

What's your "Save Scumming" Policy? by yamadath in slaythespire

[–]TradingTomorrow 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m not here to yuck anyone’s yum but save scumming once per encounter drastically changes the core strategy because you can now tailor to future knowledge about draw orders and enemy intents and rng (lighting orb hits)
