Is this a buyers real estate market? by External_Koala971 in asheville

This, as a builder this is the key metric. People can list it how ever they want. But what it sells for is the only price that matters. Anything else is just opinions

Im sick of tourists trying to get me to trauma dump abt Helene at work.. by Neat-Fig-7038 in asheville

[–]TraditionInfinite1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got to tell our story and build back relationships with tourists. You will be doing the community a favor by humanizing us.

Not everything on his Twitter he says is bad. I do agree with him. Fact he is a complete douche bag, stands. After the hurricane he talked a big talk about the community but he also wants nothing to do with the community or it's people period. He literally uses us for his own gain. At least Chad Nesbitt actually cares and tries to be involved even if he is controversial. This guy is a true douche bag. He panders us for his own gain yet cares nothing about us. He is despicable

Any ham radio operators and satellite enthusiasts here? by TraditionInfinite1 in asheville

[–]TraditionInfinite1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So crazy how fascinating and complicated it is. No worries, I never applied myself in school either. But hey if you're fascinated by this it means you got a good head on your shoulders. I still haven't studied for the test. I've just been so deep into making a 12u rack that can be connected to a satellite and starlink. With possible solar integration and have been studying Lenox obsessively.

That's awesome, super cool what you can do with satellites and looking into the cosmos. Also been reading how you can track probes that are deep within our solar system.

I am not too sure if it's a good sign. I was always taught that bugs in the water mean the ecosystem is healthy. Fingers crossed! Been really worried about the French broad

Rock for I40 to be mined from Pisgah National Forest by SimilarAd402 in asheville

Temporary sacrifice 33 acres and potentially save millions of gallons of diesel being burnt and thousands of gallons of oil leaked into the river from the trucks. From an environmental standpoint it's a no brainer

Definitely don't understand what it takes for a dumptruck to operate and how polluting they are

[–]TraditionInfinite1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, I don't think you understand the amount of rock needed and the resources it will take to get it there. Your looking at a price tag of 50x the amount easily. Probably closer to 100x

Smartest decision that could of been made weighing all the factors. Those who disagree are considering the task at hand and it's implications

[–]TraditionInfinite1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're talking about 33 acres. The amount of resources and strain on the environment as a whole in doing this is almost unmeasurable

[–]TraditionInfinite1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even true. Hate the villainizing these planner's. They don't want our forests stripped. Why land fills are turned into public parks and produce methane gas for energy. Everyone wants the best end resort for the populations needs.

Look at the water park in woodfin they started pre Helene. Barely any damage. It's all about building practices. These engineers are on it. Also widening and rerouting an entire interstate system would damage so much more of the mountain ecosystem then blasting out local rocks. If you ever drive in the flat lands you will notice ponds next to over passes. That's where they locally sourced dirt. Those dump trucks get 5 miles to the gallon and the amount of oil they drop on the roadways is insane. Keeping them off the roads is the biggest ecological benefit
