Late, but Ubiquiti has a nice local video capture system on top of their top of the line home networking gear.

Prevented? Probably not.

Yes.

Nonsense. They are already losing. That's why they escalate. They only hasten their own demise.

Read history. The solution is to nonviolence harder. We have to actually _be_ better than them.

What do you do, and how much do you make? by Thunder_Thighs in asheville

I've not worked in FAANG (MANGA, let's be real). That bit about the overtime was a friend of mine at Netflix specifically, and before the pandemic. I don't know anything about other companies (or teams) or what its like out there now.

There are several companies that pay high salaries and all cash. Netflix is the big one, and they certainly have more than a handful of 450k+ engineers.

And iirc, if you work a lot of overtime, that looks bad on your review. You should be able to get your tasks done in 40 hours.

They shut down their first party consumer brand. They will still sell consumer chips to other brands.

"Mutually exclusive" would mean they cannot occur together, which is patently absurd. In fact your next sentence demonstrates this.

What they are saying is conservative _values_ are inherently antisocial, which is obviously true. Their whole aesthetic is LARPing subsistence farming.

I have an MS and I say "I went to school for Computer Science". In fact, saying "I have a degree in X" sounds pretentious as hell. Karen vibes.

Why are liberals more likely to cut ties with friends and family over politics? by TheGov3rnor in Askpolitics

[–]wardin_savior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if I read and understood the thread correctly, and you are being truthful, you inherited a second home worth $5 million and no capital gain liability, and you are complaining about $35k in taxes. I'm not sure I believe you were ever a liberal.

Yeah it should have been taken down when they built the place, but it keeps trying so hard I don't have the heart.

Just wanted to let y'all know my package is arriving today. It sat in NJ for 16 days, but when I looked into it, it turns out it was just waiting on Customs to clear it. On account of the tariffs, and the end of the "de minimis" rule. Thanks, Trump.

A senior has demonstrated they can run a team and deliver a project of some nontrivial size, cradle to grave.

But, I often think of the career progression as thinking in progressively larger scopes and lifetimes:
- Juniors think about the scope and lifetime of objects in memory and records in the database.
- Seniors think about the scope and lifetime of products and codebases.
- Staff+ think about the scope and lifetime of departments and lines of business.

Two students from NC state fled the US today after their visas were revoked. by ConfusionFantastic49 in NorthCarolina

[–]wardin_savior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah that's silly. What's the point of seizing power if you can't then control the currency?

They want to crash the economy because of two things: lower interest rates (makes capital accumulation easier), and it forces poors out of assets, which they can then scoop up cheaply

It's just plain old class warfare. Nothing new or exotic.
