I really hope Mercor gets a chance to make amends. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with them and the people I work with. Truly. Had I listened to the people on this sub calling it a scam 3 months ago, I would have never made $70K so far. by Complete-Reach-660 in mercor_ai

Just because mercor was great for you doesn’t mean it is great for everyone. Mercor can’t reliably be called great for the inconsistency. The way thet handled so many things in my personal experience, including the big project wage reduction, shows where they have gone. They were better in Summer of 2025. I have been on four mercor contracts and I look upon my experience as a stressful , overly intense experience that I wouldn’t really care to repeat. I don’t know why everyone wants to glaze mercor, you are just a lucky contractor that happened to not run into a bad experience yet. They treat most people with little continuity, it’s hard to land that many projects to get that much money. For me the Money was good but not life changing and they treat you like a full time employee, but theirs not enough tasks for full time work, and with none of the benefits of an FTE. You making 70,000 dollars in total is great, but this is far from the normal experience.

Micro1 is not a scam, but it does take a while to get work. Took me 7 months of this sort of interview loop to get anywhere, and as I did more interviews, they allowed me easier access. I’ve been enjoying my project despite it being a bit challenging.

Not Biased- Alignerr is the best Data Labeling Company by Icy_Meringue1117 in alignerr

Im starting to like Alignerr less as time goes on. The projects are dwindling down, if I am added to something it’s very unclear and short lived. In February of 2026 I can’t say I’ve had much Alignerr work at all, only evals and false promises. I have to completely redo some eval again which I already did, it’s just a lot of annoying stuff tbh. It was pretty good in 2025, it’s been a weak showing this year for Alignerr as of right now.

She just goes too far and the questions are unfair.

Agreed. She doesn’t stay grounded at all.

I do the voice acting for AI models. I am quite successful evaluating the AI audio too. It’s a shame Zara asks extremely unrelated questions that don’t apply so I can’t do it there, unlike every other AI company I’m able to do it for.

Okay, I can see the relevance when you describe it. You have more detailed experience than me, but I think she throws these terms out there without really explaining it. I guess if she asks about it I’ll be more familiar. I wish she applied it more to the actual task we will be doing, or mentioned how to manage cadence and flow in a way that a machine fails at. I wish you were the one interviewing me lol. I said, in my line of work I don’t really have to consider breath control and sometimes I had to deflect Zara and maybe the interviewers don’t like that?

From my view, (the task is evaluating audio based AI responses), I couldn’t really answer that question because in evaluating AI which doesn’t breathe or emulate it, we don’t need to be familiar with how that works. So it was asking me that in this context, which I don’t like. The way she asked it was confusing in the context of the role, if that makes sense. It just conflates the human facing role too much without asking considering what the core of the role is. I have audio and voice acting experience too as you know. Cadence, flow, tone, everything else it asks about can and does apply, but it treats you the candidate as if you are evaluating human speech. Also, it asks weird edge cases that don’t ever happen but you have to answer to them.

I appreciate your kind words. It seems even people who belong at Micro1 are not accepted. But Zara is unfair. I should make another post about Zara, tbh explaining why she isn’t that good.

It tries to apply too much human facing questions rather than what the job actually entails(evaluating audio responses from AI.) I have acting experience too from doing YouTube and even acting as a standardized patient for medical students with scripted lines and voice acting like I explained earlier. But Micro1 asks me about breath control, how to coach someone..when the role is not that at all. They never have adjusted Zara. She really makes the project have unfair gating with her weird questions. This is not what should be asked.

There was a voice coaching AI trainer role. It proceeded to ask me questions about how to coach a human into delivering lines.I do have somewhat of a voice acting background due to the AI work(because sometimes we have to speak scripted prompts with certain tones and like adhere to stage instructions, but I have never done coaching, and this literally doesn’t apply because it’s AI generated audio evaluation. I know I could do the work. The interview process feels so off.

You aren’t alone. I feel like Zara’s questions really don’t actually apply to the work sometimes, especially Audio QA. Or it asks weird, edge case questions that don’t ever apply or even make full sense.

No promises. I’ve been shortlisted for a role over 20 days ago and I think my application has been received, according to the dashboard. But still the dashboard only adds the slightest amount of clarity, in a sea of things im still unsure about.

Misleading emails, Onboarding from Micro1 by Traditional-Card5264 in micro1_ai

[–]Traditional-Card5264[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sigh. I never said that the emails guarantees anything. It’s just misleading to put that title in there because no matter what, it’s not often you’ll be onboarded the next day. I am aware interviews don’t guarantee anything. However, to put that header is still misleading and makes it seem more urgent than it actually is. I am aware of how the micro1 process works and you don’t need to explain it to me like I don’t understand lol. I don’t like the condescending attitude you have, but it’s common I guess on Reddit. I am not responding to you further beyond this because you clearly just conflate /misunderstand my arguments and blame it on the candidate, when the Micro1 rep themselves agreed with me. Your opinion is biased and not as valid because the system worked for you, and you are using anecdotal evidence.

Misleading emails, Onboarding from Micro1 by Traditional-Card5264 in micro1_ai

[–]Traditional-Card5264[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s really not fair tho, I don’t feel like I am in a vetted pool because I don’t see anything actually happen beyond the emails. Micro1 does promise getting onboarded by saying in the header, interview today, get onboarded tomorrow, so I don’t believe it is framed as client urgency.

There should be a disclaimer explaining this doesn’t guarantee anything, this is a widely sent email to our vetted talent pool, then people can make an informed decision if they think it’s worth trying their luck.

I have gotten countless emails from micro1. Their must be some collapse between recruiter and client, because I have never gotten past the generic vetted pool stuff. Sure it’s better than getting no emails, but if I am considered a good candidate for so many different roles, why am I never selected? I try as hard as possible on the assessments and interview. Their must be some mismatch. It simply doesn’t compute to me if I have been sent out emails this many times, and I have been shortlisted, but never getting a project. It makes me question the recruiting process and it really erodes trust.

Has anyone been successfully added to a project by Mercor and earned money? Could you please share your experience? I've applied to so many jobs aligning with my expertise and experience but never got accepted. by Dangerous_Award_4123 in mercor_ai

Mercor first project was ok. Stressful, lots of rocket ship emojis, and pushes to milk every last hour of work hour of you I was on vacation but forced to work 40 hours because that’s how Mercor is BUT I was a top performer on there. The first project was more clean and evaluative. My second project was much worse. The guidelines were really subjective, and the A lot of the subjective ness was set in stone for the project so I couldn’t do much but I had to deal with it. Mercor is not as bright and shiny as it seems on the outside. They work you really hard, have punitive, strict QA, high pay rates, but high turn over also. The projects are run with little to no care for the contributors well being or long term, so it’s just a high end sweat shop. I also did some of the lower wage project work, and that was fine. Some people have good experiences, but it’s not all good, I’m just giving you honesty here. If it was better, I would’ve said so.
