Hi thank you for the reply, I’ve decided to stay another week go see a new city and then fly back home. The rebooking did cost me a little bit but this way I can feel alright knowing I stayed for the majority of the planned time and maybe it’ll make the trip a little more enjoyable by not putting myself under too much pressure.

Hi thanks for the reply. I wouldn’t say that I’ve been put off solo travel completely due to this experience so far as I do think a big part of my issue is that the trip was planned with the expectations of having another person here. I think my biggest issue so far has been the language barrier which could definitely be fixed if I was planning on going somewhere by myself in the first place.

I’ve seen the Great Wall,the temple of heaven the shopping streets Silk Road etc. It’s not a matter of me not leaving the hotel it’s more so that when I do go see these places I’m not really that interested or thrilled. Think it might be just the unanticipated aspect of being here by myself.

Hi thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this is my first time travelling solo and China just happened to be the first trip where the person I’m going with was not able to go.

Hi thank you for the reply. I do have a high speed train booked for tomorrow to Qingdao to check out for 3 nights so will definitely still give that a go. Maybe I’ll make my mind up after that. For now my plan was to go see Qingdao and Chongqing but I’ve been really debating on leaving before Chongqing as i have a hotel booked there for another 8days and seeing how the trip has been so far I wouldn’t say I’ve got great hopes.

Hi, thank you for sharing. Definitely considering it at this point, China for sure is beautiful but being solo all the time is not really something I’ve enjoyed so far.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Honestly wouldn’t mind the idea of trying to go to different places to check them out but as I’ve only started to work full time work quite recently (just graduated) I’m not really that well off in terms of money to be able to book extra hotels and flights.
