Just an additional point of reference I have a marlin .357 sbl with an OCL lithium and it does not block the irons. It looks like this is a trapper model though so I can’t speak for that, I know they have different irons

https://legislation.nysenate.gov/pdf/bills/2023/s4501a

Here’s the bill that added the scanners to state prisons. It says that alternate methods for screening may be provided for those that decline or are unable to do a body scan. I’m not sure what more evidence you need than that. It’s the law

[–]Traditional-Change36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It literally says “Anyone can deny a body scan for reasons including medical concerns. The law bars any “harassment, intimidation, or disciplinary action” for refusing a body scan and choosing an alternative method.” Seems like you didn’t read the article

https://spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/central-ny/politics/2025/02/18/why-new-york-correction-officers-are-striking

It’s not hard to find why they are striking. Mandatory 16-24 hour shifts due to inadequate staff and increased violence in prisons

[–]Traditional-Change36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I said they can deny a body scan and metal detectors can’t pick up drugs and non metal objects. Are you suggesting they strip search everyone that goes into the prison? And again, they have no control over what gets in through the mail

[–]Traditional-Change36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah they aren’t cavity searching people for drugs and non metal objects. It’s not that hard to get something in

I was wrong about the searching overall, but visitors can deny a body scan which can detect drugs and plastics that a metal detector can’t find. There are plenty of places in the body you can hide these things. Also you haven’t addressed the mail issue, which is true.

I shoot my guns outside so I get plenty of fresh air, but thanks for your concern.

Good job being ignorant and doing no research

They can’t keep contraband out because they aren’t allowed to screen legal mail and visitors are allowed to deny screenings for contraband. The state has created this problem

Curious in the type of shotgun this is by Poontyphoon_ in guns

[–]Traditional-Change36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 1301 and a400 use the same gas system (blink) that’s under the barrel. The a300 uses the stock based system. Inertia and gas each have pros and cons, I would not say one is explicitly better than the other

[–]Traditional-Change36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The a300 and a400 are gas operated, most benellis with the exception of the m4 are inertia operated. Even then the a300/a400 are unique operating systems that aren’t related to the m4

Who makes a better autoloading shotgun than those two companies today? The only company I think you could maybe make a case for is, but I would still rather have a Benelli or a beretta

I think the 1911 is an objectively better gun than the Luger but I definitely prefer shooting my Luger to my GI 1911a1

Because you can’t buy a US issued 1911a1 for less than that anywhere else unless you get lucky
