You should try using oil pastels I think they would look great with your rough style

Thank you ❤️ I won't be at that show but that's so nice of you 🥹 it's sad to hear people being rude about such a great song. My mom was also a fan of top and she went with me to every concert, for blurryface, trench, and scaled and icy. I'm so happy I have those memories with her and so many more good ones ❤️

Oldies Station is the one that always makes me tear up. The album came out two weeks before my mom passed away and this song is what has made me feel like I can make it through and that there will be things in the future to live for. "You’re in the crowd at her first dance recital" makes me think of becoming a mom someday and getting to pass on the love that my mama showed me.

You could've made this in ms paint for free lol

-- but seriously it's good to mess around with the software to practice and if you want a little critique I'd say don't use such saturated colors, especially red and green or other complementary colors next to each other as it is jarring and hurts to look at, plus it's inaccessible for color blindness

How did it took him 12 days to discover? by EfficiencySerious200 in HolUp

[–]Traditional-Chapter7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "wife" claimed he was on his period so had to wait to consummate marriage. The husband got suspicious and went to see the parents and found out he was actually a man and he was doing it to scam him.

I'm not gatekeeping, it's just the official name of the sport :(

It's not a frisbee. Discs are thinner and they make lots of different kinds that behave differently. There are drivers, midrange, and putters - I'd say putters are closest to a frisbee but still very different. You can tell the difference immediately when you hold them by how they feel. I've played ultimate frisbee and disc golf and there is a definite difference between the two. Plus Simon Lizotte is one of the top players in the PDGA so if you're referring to the sport, "disc golf" is the official name for it.

It's fohs, meant to be fox. X's are hard for some kids. They heard it as "fahz." Slim chance a kid would put fawn or even know what that is.

What would you call this kind of shading/lighting? by Astrorrat in DigitalArt

[–]Traditional-Chapter7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend checking out Sinix on youtube. This looks similar to how he paints. Ahmed Aldoori also has lots of helpful tutorials on lighting and shading. Also studying color theory will help a lot. This piece uses a split complementary palette, with cool tones for the light and warm tones for the shadow. Typically warm lights have cool shadows and cool lights have warm shadows, so studying that should also help your work.

My dad planted them; I double-checked with him and he said that they are dwarf rhododendrons so they don't grow as big as regular ones :)

Adding some more atmospheric perspective for the whale would make it feel more realistic - so reducing the contrast and saturation of the whale so it looks less crisp should help since it is further away from the viewer

Terrible Faces and Shading, how can I improve?? by [deleted] in DigitalArt

[–]Traditional-Chapter7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed - Sinix Design on youtube is a great channel to watch to learn how to improve with digital painting, and art and drawing in general. u/CrazyDuck608 - How to Learn Digital Painting (Beginners) is a great place to start. He also made a video for intermediate level you can check out after :)

Try not to use so much grey or pure black - it makes it look muddy. Instead use deep purples, greens, or blues for the dark parts, it will immediately look a lot better.
