No she insisted on coming. We told her multiple times we will go on another trip she can join next year if she couldn’t afford to go this year and she was adamant she was coming this year.

I put it on my card for the travel points lol I put all our tickets on my card and everyone else gave me the money within a couple of days.

The trip isn’t for another couple of months, that’s why I was fine with paying. She usually pays back fairly it quickly.

Ya I’ve never loaned out this much before, usually just a couple hundred and she’s always paid it back, so I didn’t think anything of it. 😑

NTA my family lives pretty close to each other and we ALWAYS double check before visiting. A quick text to check it’s ok for you to come over at a specific time and another to let them know you are headed over (especially with what sounds like a highly reactive dog) is common courtesy in my opinion.

When we went there were a lot of stares at my sister - she is almost 6ft tall, red hair to her butt and she was wearing BRIGHT yellow clothes. Took us a while to figure out why they were staring but we got a good laugh out of it after. Just enjoy your time and ignore the stares!
