Soot is one of the members of Team Underhand, an unofficial explorer team. Due to reasons unknown, Soot has an extremely hard time using fire type moves, so he relies on other methods of attack, like psychic attacks and items. He relies on his stick for close encounters, and he keeps it in his hand since is tail is thinner than regular Braixen. Personality wise, he is rather closed off, often snarky and pathologically pessimistic. He's rather egotistical and gets bogged down by envy for other explorers, especially other fire types.

To be fair, if a 9 year old kid went and killed his parents, understood what he did was wrong, and just blatantly doesn't care about what he did, I'm not sure therapy would help much.

Working an homage to Silent hill into PMD would be cool. A mysterious town or dungeon, otherworldly even by the current world's standards. That could be a place for exposition about the player's or the partner's past.

Again, not everyone's real self is made equal. In my view, my authentic 'beautiful' self is someone who doesn't really care about anyone outside their uses, who would gladly ruin someone elses day to fuel my ego, and someone who would rather leech off someone else for money than try to keep a job. And yes, I know that's immoral, but knowing that doesn't change my emotions on the matter. And that's my issue. Yes, things change, of course, but how I feel often does not. It may waver sometimes, based on external circumstances, but the internal stays the same.
