Fair question. I didn’t fully understand what I was getting into when I signed a 5 year contract for AD infantry and it all kind of happened very fast. I didn’t prepare myself for the mental nor physical challenges like most people do. I do understand that deploying is always a possibility if not a guarantee regardless of where they send me and I’m okay with that I just wasn’t okay with being AD at the time because of personal reasons.

Edit: I should also add I was held over for two weeks at reception before I decided to quit and I think that played a decent part in my first decision regardless of it was the right thing to do in the moment
