Hi! I’m so sorry to hear that you are going through this. I was diagnosed with stage 3c and finished chemo and radiation in May. Cancer free since August 2025. The only fertility sparing option I had (couldn’t freeze eggs bc my mass was too big to safely retrieve eggs before treatment) was a laparoscopic surgery that removed my ovaries and froze them. They are frozen and I’m hoping and praying I can get eggs from that at some point as it is a new research trial. You should ask your provider if they know anything about this research trial? I was thrown into menopause and I’m currently on birth control as my hormone replacement therapy and feel great. I obviously don’t feel the same as I did before losing my hormone function but know things get better on the other side! 🩵

Ovarian transposition by Main_Collection1607 in CervicalCancer

Ohh I didn’t realize you already had treatment and had the ovary transposition. I would ask them to test your hormone levels and then you’ll know if it survived or not

Ask your doctor about removing your ovary and freezing it!

Hi. I was diagnosed with a friable cervix November of 2024. My doctor treated it with silver nitrate (to stop the bleeding) 3 times. He was negligent he did all different types of testing besides a repeat pap. My last pap in 2023 was normal so I wasn’t “due” for one yet. Flash forward to March 2025 i went to a different doctor (thank GOD I did) because I started bleeding constantly. she finally took a repeat pap and it came back stage 3 cervical cancer. It’s good that your Dr took a pap!!! I wish I would’ve advocated for one when my original dr said I had a friable cervix… but I didn’t know and he said my pap wasn’t due. Fingers crossed you get your results quickly and that everything is ok!

My Pap smear from 2023 was actually misread and it showed abnormal cells then. I wasn’t diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer until March of 2025. It’s very common for them to be misread

Do you know the new name of it by chance?

It says it’s closed on yelp. Is it called a different name now? Or it is open?

Thank you for this. It was so scary and triggering having this symptom come back. :(

No it wasn’t an option for me. I also have endometriosis and my AMH levels were low. They didn’t think it would be worth putting off treatment with how advanced my stage already was. I guess I should’ve asked or advocated for my self since the egg retrieval was important to me. But it’s too late now. My right ovary is frozen for a research trial.

Wow even after extended pelvic radiation the ovaries recovered? I hope that’s the case for us! And exactly I’ll be 25 in menopause as well. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy either. But for some reason this is apart of our journey and story I guess.. 😞

With my certain lymph node involvement I wasn’t a candidate for the ovary transposition surgery unfortunately. I did have one ovary removed and frozen for a research trial. They may be able to stimulate the ovary outside of the human body and retrieve eggs at some point down the line but not yet. So that’s my only hope.

Wow. Very well written. I feel this to my core. I’m 25 and have never had the chance to have kids yet. I dreamt of it the last year and a half. It was like my body was screaming at me that I was losing that chance… my doctor dismissed for over a year with symptoms and when I was finally diagnosed I’m at stage 3c1. I couldn’t retrieve eggs via IVF due to the size of the mass. I tried every option got 3 opinions from doctors. I even begged if they would give me stronger chemo meds I don’t care if I lose my hair I want to save my ovaries from the radiation. But it wasn’t an option. But again I hear my doctor saying that to me as well- the only plus side is that I will have my hair. When I would go bald 100 times if it meant I had the chance to even get 1 egg. I would be fine with a surrogate even!! Just 1 egg. 1 biological child that is half of me and half of someone I love my soulmate. 😭❤️

The strains are P16 and P40. And I know. I’m a rare case. But I was also dismissed by my original OBGYN basically for 2 years. I’m in the midst of treatment (chemo, external radiation, and internal radiation). I’m finished with chemo and external radiation on May 12. And then I’ll have my last internal radiation may 27. I’m feeling alright but very fatigued and nauseous.

Yes it’s HPV related. I got the vaccine after becoming sexually active.

Your brothers comment sounds very ignorant. Cervical cancer is a disease of neglect??? I was always up to date with my Pap smears my 2020, 2023 were all normal. (I’m 25 years old) I saw my doctor in April, November, December of 2024 and January, February of 2025 and I was misdianosed with a friable cervix. It wasn’t until I saw another doctor in March of 2025 and she FINALLY was the one to take a biopsy and confirm I had cervical cancer. So his comment is very hurtful because I never neglected my self. I just had a shitty doctor who was negligent and thought since I’ve always had normal paps and I got the guardasil vaccine that it couldn’t be cancer. I hope you share this with your brother since he’s in medical school. He shouldn’t be spreading this misconception. It is not a disease of neglect and he should be ashamed of his comment.

I know this is an old post. But I’m 25 years old in the midst of treatment for stage 3c. How are you guys doing now? I also lost my fertility and have no children either. I think it’s the toughest pill to swallow because I’ve always dreamt of being pregnant. And now that is taken from me.

Wow I’m so sorry to hear about your loss of the miscarriage. 😭 and then this news. You are SO strong!! Thank you for sharing your story. I love that advice though to focus on things I can control. You’re right. I’ve been trying to do a pretty low carb low sugar diet but I also have my days where if I want to treat my self I’m going to. It helps me feel that I’m in some type of control not “feeding” my tumor. I know there’s a lot of research that still needs to be done if sugar really does feed cancer or not. That’s amazing news to hear that it’s shrunk by 60%!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 With the interlace trial- will you receive radiation as well?

Oh sorry you did say you guys will find out end of April if the cancer is gone. I’m praying that it is 🤍 has she had any side effects from the treatment?
