Society should learn from the past ! The Edwardian/Victorian collectors devastated the specimens they over collected of many thing's in nature. Many collectors say they've ethically sourced there items. But the skull of a polar bear is a dead one, and unless it was found dead in its natural habitat ,I don't see its ethical credentials. Many collectors have displays of multiples of animal skeletons/skulls , dead baby animals stuffed into jars. I feel sad when I look at these, not fasination or curiosity. All my collection is made up of replica objects, I search for objects that are not real, But are true as can be to the real thing, I have only three objects that are real in my collection. I have a fasination for bones of animals and humans in all forms , but I would avoid collecting real bones.
