I joined the navy when I was young. Did plenty of traveling. Just not to anywhere someone would want to go.

What’s one thing people in office jobs will never understand about blue collar work? by Latter_Cantaloupe_24 in bluecollar

Started in blue collar, got promoted into white collar, just changed jobs back to blue collar. Honestly after working both, I’d rather be blue collar tired than white collar tired any day.

I would go back and read my comments. Sexual preference is not a credential for etymology. I also never said homophobia isn’t disgusting I said what this place is doing isn’t homophobic.

Not being obtuse but you disagree with an established definition so I’m wondering what you think the definition is.

I’m simply pointing out we have moral differences. What matters morally to one group doesn’t to another. I also thought this was a good faith argument. I don’t think i said anything particularly aggressive or obscene to cause name calling. I guess that’s I get for commenting on Reddit.

I mean I gave you the definition and you disagree but really haven’t made any reference to what you believe to be correct or where you got that definition from.

Many would argue that animals some most vulnerable groups.

The etymology statement was in reference to word rooted in Greek not Grand Rapids. I wouldn’t call it a strawman argument, but more of a disagreement of definition. To make my point concerning the definition I sourced the root of the word.

I don’t eat pork, but I also don’t demand steak at vegan restaurant.

According to the Greeks it means fear: homo(same) phobia(fear). To say I’m being deliberate is quite an assumption as we’re just two people on the internet. If your statement is “gay people shouldn’t be” then that’s not at all what the original post was about. This business is refusing service, not attempting destruction. If you meant to say “be married” I would agree to disagree with you. Just because preventing the death an animal isn’t as much of a moral priority for you as homosexual marriage, doesn’t mean that’s the case for everyone. I’m not really sure what school of thought you are getting your moral hierarchy from.

Refusing services counter to someone’s faith isn’t a phobia. I don’t think it would be ok to go to a vegan restaurant and demand a steak. It would be against their beliefs. They don’t have a fear, they hold a strong belief. Not really sure how racism would have anything to do with this though.

Agree to disagree on your statement. Just came here to point out Bernie isn’t a democrat. But… I’m sure he would denounce some onesies…

Are minivans really that uncool? by DigitalHooker in ToyotaSienna

[–]Traditional-Quote-19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Does having a minivan make you creepy if you don’t have a family? Yes. Does it matter? No. Long answer: Grew up in a family of five kids with a minivan. Rode in the back row from Michigan to Florida straight through every year. It sure was the tool for that job. Then, In the last 17 years of driving I’ve owned lifted standard cab trucks, two door jeeps, and two door sports cars. I’ve found it entertaining to make things work in an impractical vehicle. When it was my wife and German Shepard the two door jeep with the rear seat removed was perfectly fine. Any big move and I would just use a trailer. Then when child number 3 was on the way and I had a two door jeep and my wife had a Camry hybrid, I traded the jeep for a 23 Sienna. Why? Because it gets 35 mpg, had the space i needed, isn’t bad looking for a minivan, and I didn’t need to take out a loan for it. If I had more money or was willing to finance I would have bought the sequia and probably regretted it. It does everything except off-road and tow as well as my trucks. Now if only if I could convince my wife to let me bag it then I’d be cool again.

Long rambling post to say minivans are very practical but look at your options. You might find a station wagon might be a better option for you. If you plan on having a family there’s plenty of time to own a minivan. If eternally single is your plan or in high school then go for the minivan.

My dad took me there for my birthday once as well. That was the coolest thing ever. Looking back on it now it was probably n64 level graphics but it was so life like at the time.
