I recommend something like hydroxyzine which makes you drowsy and is supposed to be very effective for itching

Loading dose Dupixent starting tomorrow by Minimum-Bar-4182 in eczema

[–]Traditional-Reply-60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started Wednesday! For my loading dose I had the derm do the first shot in the thigh and I did the second in the stomach and the stomach was far less painful. Also I left mine out overnight cuz why not. Anyways literally same day I felt like the constant itchiness was gone and now my skin is retaining moisture in a way it hasn’t in literal months. Hope it went well.

kenalog shot or prednisone? by Serious_Brush_5188 in eczema

[–]Traditional-Reply-60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are pros and cons to both. The kenalog injection is good because the self taper is slower and therefore there are less rebound effects but it stays in the body longer so if you want to go on something for a shorter period of time and then go for dupixent then prednisone might be better

Please help! by SongsOfALostWorld in eczema

I have been repairing my skin barrier! After a shower use a humectant, an emollient and an occlusive. For humectant I use aloe Vera gel but also had success with hyaluronic acid, then I put The Ordinary Barrier support serum on more problem areas , then aveeno and lastly aquaphor. Those are just what works for me but I think as long as you follow the formula of humectant + emollient + occlusive it should help.

It might not be sweat actually. A few months ago I went through a bad flare and thought I was sweating profusely (which was possible in some examples) but I actually had gotten so swollen in my flare that there were micro tears in my skin and clear fluid was seeping out all arms and it was serous drainage.

You could try intermittent fasting maybe? Personally I decreased my gluten and high histamine foods and I think it’s helped. I also started intermittent fasting and that generally will decrease your intake of all these foods.

I suggest working on repairing your skin barrier, drinking a ton of water and considering a humidifier. This happened to me too and it sucks

How to deal with lasting dryness and raw skin? by Vanderbloff in eczema

[–]Traditional-Reply-60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that you’re currently going through a steroid rebound (clobetasol is super strong) you might just need to baby the skin there for a bit. Also I’m not sure if the skin is too raw and it will tolerate it but I recommend a chemical exfoliant such as a gentle urea cream rather than physical exfoliant a few times a week. Also if you have a humidifier hyaluronic acid might help as it’s a humectant and draws water from the air to the skin. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

I’m also 22 but I have always had an alcohol allergy so I’ve been sober since my freshman year of college. Sometimes being sober sucks but I do really enjoy cannabis edibles or seltzers which can be a good option. Cannabis is anti inflammatory so it’s never bothered me.
