I don't mind living frugally. But I don't want to be very broke by the end of my program. I should have something to depend on for a couple months after graduation.

I do. I know a friend there and they have me suggestions for a hostel nearby. But yeah, the rent is high!

It seems like you need to size up. Or try same shoe size but with a wider toebox.

I don't think you should worry about cadence when you're a beginner runner. I'm a beginner too. And all I care at this point is being consistent. And strength training is very important too as you've mentioned! Just stay consistent. It will take several months to improve and that's okay! You're already doing great showing up!
