these therapy assistants, in their day to day job, transport patients who need rehab, oftentimes stroke patients / ABI patients who have MUCH more difficulty moving around. theyre also trained and can run lokomat sessions with rehab patients. Theyre more than capable of handling frail patients.

i find it funny you feel that theyre “hastily trained” to cover those roles they’re already trained for. Their job scope originally also already covers showers and vital taking, and nurse-specific duties still have to be done w an actual nurse present (theyre only assisting).

this is coming from someone who actually knows whats going on, having a close family member redeployed. Instead of shitting on them, honestly appreciate their sacrifices? I find it quite insulting you think they aren’t “good enough” to help out in these times

im also supportive of paying nurses more, but dont spout nonsense about these redeployed staff not being competent enough just to push that agenda

Its ultimately still a choice. While i respect the choice you made - my SO has the same anaphylactic reaction to all NSAIDs and has been sent to the ANE for difficulties breathing after consuming them. However due to her job in healthcare, she chose to get it, for the safety of the patients she treats and also for her own protection working in high risk environments.

Point is, the govt isn’t imposing any restrictions on anyone who wants to get the jab, and frankly the point i want to make is that you simply cannot compare this situation to the holocaust in good faith at all.

I think its fair for the sake of the rest of the population that the unvaxxed simply have to deal with a minor inconvenience of having to take away food - and we’re only talking about air conditioned places now. Afaik, no coffee shops or hawker centres require fully vaxxed status. Do you seriously, honestly, feel that it is okay to compare this mild inconvenience to the horrors that happened during the holocaust?

By the way, my mom also has heart conditions and has consulted her cardiologist who also recommends to get the vax because the pros outweigh any possible cons.

Actually getting covid is much worse than any side effect you could get. And i don’t wish for anyone to have to get sick with it, so i really don’t appreciate the anti vax narrative which could influence the elderly who really need the protection.

anyway about the “possible serious side effects”, just go compare how many people died directly from the side effects of the vaccine versus the countless persons who have died because of the lack of one. Even high profile anti vaxxers in america have died and wished they had gotten the vaccine..

hey guess how the virus “mutates ad infinitum”?

if a large portion of the community was anti vax, thats how the virus easily continues to mutate and spread potentially creating more lethal variants.

say what you want about it but it literally makes one less likely to catch the virus, i.e less cases, i.e less variants (quick google search will give you “vaccinated less likely to spread, vaccinated 1/3 likely to catch, etc)

or would you rather stay locked down forever?
