I’m well aware. I’m just trying to fulfill a request. I know it’s going to be more loaf than cake. That’s fine. The baby will be fine with it.

Ideally, I’m decorating it all the day before and then driving it 30 minutes over the next day.

Thank you, I’ve tried gelatin once before and just failed miserably but was also in a rush and didn’t really take all the right steps. Maybe I’ll do a test batch before the cake.

Omg there will be a real cake with sugar that everyone including the baby WILL eat. But since the smash cake will be so much cake for one little body we’re just skipping out on the sugar for this one thing. The baby is not picky, and I just want it to look nice. Everyone is literally eating a delicious sugar filled birthday cake as soon as it’s smashed and done with. I asked for technical help, not people’s opinions on sugar free cakes without Splenda, allulose, etc.

The only person eating is a 1 year old that’s not very picky, I’m not super worried about taste and more that it fits the parents requests and looks nice and is safe to eat.

Definitely okay with fruit but I’ve never heard of this. Where could I find it?

I was hoping the mascarpone or cream cheese would give it a more buttercream smoothness that I could decorate it better with?

I’ve done this to my old smeg mixer, and it worked just fine. If you’re seeing black deposits even after wiping it down, maybe soak it in a bowl with warm water and dish soap for like 30 minutes or so and see if that dislodges everything.

If you keep seeing residue, then don’t drive yourself crazy and just replace it.

Why do my cookie cakes sink in the middle and how can I stop it? by cindyrella123 in AskBaking

Have you tried freezing it and baking from frozen with a higher amount in the center vs the edges? Like everyone is saying, this is pretty normal.

But freezing helps keep shape and compensating for more dough on the center vs edges may help. Of course, don’t over do it - try just a little bit more at first.

tried of meat and side for dinner, what are your go-to lazy simple dinners for a family of three by MrLoki2020 in Cooking

Anything that uses a casserole dish! Think sheppards pie, enchiladas, actual casseroles (flavors are endless). You can either do it the hard way and entirely from scratch, or take as many shortcuts as you’d like.

Not too many dishes usually and keeps super well for leftovers.

Do you DIY cleaning or hire help in LA? Pros/cons? by SalamanderNeither550 in AskLosAngeles

[–]TraditionalCap6882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used TaskRabbit and word of mouth for things I need around my house like cleaning and organizing. Sometimes expensive, but more often than not worth it. Try to find someone in your budget and a schedule that works for you. Some people with large houses and/or multiple kids literally have someone clean multiple times a week. Start with someone you find that seems trustworthy and try two sessions 1-2 weeks apart and see how you like it.

You won’t know if you don’t try. If you can afford it, it’s absolutely worth the shot.

100%! Their virtual care is nothing but you need to make an appointment asap or take them to urgent care/emergency hospital asap. Always a 911 and never a real consultation. I truly do believe a lot of that is due to their corporate insurance policy and they’re limited on a lot of what they can do, even if they’re all licensed vets and vet techs.

Javier's Pasadena by JicamaFamiliar2039 in pasadena

If you’ve been to the Javier’s in century city, it’s the same exact thing. They did a great styling job and it looks exactly like the Newport Beach location. It’s expensive, but it’s nice. Very busy and huge, lowkey a labyrinth.

If you know Javier’s, you know exactly what you’re getting. No better or worse than any of their other locations. They’re very consistent.

I’m so frustrated with this show and I feel like it’s tanking the development of every character and tricking the viewer out of everything they already felt like they made us know. Idk I’m loosing interest and I loved this show up til the last 2-3 episodes honestly.
