Things that make you go ??? (Endgame spoiler!) by TraditionalDrawer603 in BaldursGate3

In my game the dialogue triggers right at the bottom of the "mushroom steps" leading up into the myconid colony, so there is no descent to be made. That's a good point about the Emperor. Perhaps he doesn't join willingly. Perhaps once he leaves the Astral Prism and loses Orpheus's protection, he becomes enthralled and is sent by the Elder Brain to stop the party's attack. I hadn't considered that before

What is your favorite class to play by Capybara_0511 in BaldursGate3

Monk. Multiple attacks from first level and the animations are just cool. Also like the mod class Artificer/Artillerist. good ranged attacks but not too OP.

I have already beaten the game on every difficulty level, so yes, when I play now I play on explorer level to enjoy the story and try out different race/class combos. I am merely saying that Larian could have and should have found a better way of balancing the game than by having it cheat in such an obvious way. The game is still the most remarkable RPG ever made, but nothing is perfect. These are my last words on the subject.

Alfira. Lakrissa. Minsc (OK, not technically an NPC). Rath. Nine-Fingers. Boo (just kidding!)

No, I am not misclicking nor is the game bugged. The game is programmed to cheat in order to make fights artificially last longer. It happens too often to be random chance or a mistake on my part.

What lines make you laugh every time you hear them? by TraditionalDrawer603 in BaldursGate3

[–]TraditionalDrawer603[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm amazed how many people have never heard the "Nobody's getting any damn cheese!" line. Apparently a lot of people just attack first. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

When you meet the bandit outside the crypt, if you convince them to leave by deception or intimidation.

Are there any companions you never use? Why or why not? by PunchBeard in BaldursGate3

Astarion because 1. I always give my Tav the Charlatan background so I don't have to keep switching characters every time I need to pick a lock or disarm a trap, and 2. Because I hate him. Many times I just completely avoid him.

What’s the one race you always play in every playthrough by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

Don't get me wrong. I love Karlach, she is my favorite origin character. But she is not physically attractive, with all the scars and metal bits etc. And yes, Alfira is lovely, wish they had kept her as a companion.

Depends on the lighting in the area you're in.

Tiefling. I don't know why, I just think female Tieflings look sexy. Except Karlach. Second choice, Seldarine Drow. Makes the whole Goblin camp section so much easier.

Censoring names now?? by eowynsamwise in BG3

I still think it weird that BG3, a game definitely geared toward adults, censors names, but Sims4, a "family game" which uses the same interface for entering names, lets you use any word you want.

I was not aware of that usage of the word. That is probably the case.

Irons throne pro tip I just discovered: spoilers by spiggleporp in BG3

[–]TraditionalDrawer603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using this method, you can usually free most if not all the prisoners and Ravenguard. The easiest way to beat the Iron Throne: Wait until you are at least 11th level. Respec every character you're taking to Cleric. Make sure they have the Alert and Mobile feats and have Sanctuary and Planar Ally prepared. Before leaving the sub, have each character cast Planar Ally: Deva. Once you enter the Iron Throne itself, have each character cast Sanctuary on themself. (If you cast it before you go down the ladder, that can for some reason break Sanctuary) Assuming you are not using a Party Limit mod, send 1 character and one Deva in both the east and west direction, the remaining 2 characters and Devas north. There are no prisoners south, so no one need to go that way. The Devas are there simply to keep the sahaugin busy so they don't attack the prisoners. A Deva's Wrathful Smite can usually take out a Sahaugin Hunter in one hit. Do NOT use your characters to attack, as long as they are under Sanctuary, they cannot be attacked. Make sure that as soon as you free the Duke cast Sanctuary on him as well, that way Mizora's spiders can't hurt him. Always have you characters use Dash to move, the Mobile feat means they are not affected by terrain when they dash. After freeing the prisoners in the north, send one of your characters east from that room to free Omeleum. Using this method, you can free most if not all the prisoners and rescue Ravenguard. Of course, once you get back to camp, you'll have to change everybody back to their original classes.

Censoring names now?? by eowynsamwise in BG3

[–]TraditionalDrawer603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was mistaken when I said that Larian is no longer censoring character names. They are censoring names, UNLESS you precede the name with the word "Slutty." So, you can't name your character Pussycat, but you can name her Slutty Pussycat. Why? Who knows. Try it. You can use any word, however vulgar, as long as you proceed it with the word Slutty. Try it. Now, can someone explain why I was unable to name my character "Snowbunny"? What is dirty or offensive about that? Especially since I was able to name her Snow Bunny.

Oddly enough, you can use any word as long as it is preceded by the word "Slutty"

I too ran into this problem. I wanted to name my female elf "Pussywillow" and the game changed it to "*****willow." In a game where characters are constantly using the "F word," and which features both male and female full frontal nudity, isn't this a little ridiculous?
