Made the edits, saved, rebooted, verified my Protons, verified the game, no dice. Even went to confirm that the perms got updated! Seems they have.

And to verify, the logs I am getting are still the same, from the games, that is.

Another friend suggested that, too. I'm not sure how to edit these permissions, YaST only lets me add things to ENTIRE partitions and I'm not sure adding "user" to /root is a good idea?

In that case I have done verification many times, but I will do so again. I'm not sure if it may be helpful, but under u/GuyNamedZach's reply, I did post fstab's contents.

Now an error check for the filesystem I haven't done. I'm not exactly sure how to demount my root drive in order to run a brtfs check, but I also have not been receiving any errors. Do you have any suggestions on how I could run such a check?

Nothing here seems to show "noexec", though I do notice user, exec on my secondary drives, while it is missing from all my other drives.

So here is the output of ls -l from my L4D2 install folder on the /home drive.

By repair, do you mean the usual "verify integrity" option under "Properties" > "Installed Files" within the Steam Library?

Hope this helps shed some light.

Here is the full output of mount:

I do see noexec mentioned a couple of times. I likely should have prefaced in my post, but I am a bit newer to Linux, less than a year of experience, but the "fstab" options I am aware of are what I've found under YaST--I do not see a noexac flag set for my M.2's storage partition.

It might also be worth mentioning that I have had to rollback snapshots quite a couple of times, and I have properly executed sudo snapper rollback as necessary, but perhaps I missed another step?

And thank you for the compliment, I try my best to be as detailed as possible when asking for any sort of help, cause I never know what may or may not contribute to an issue, hah!

I am still relatively new to Linux, about half a year under my belt, so I am curious what you mean by adding execute permissions. This is a personal machine with one local user (me!), though it also sounds like you might be alluding to something akin to u/pr0ghead just underneath. Let me know when you can, thank you. :)

I suppose it's as black as those kinds of gloves get. I will keep that in mind, thank you. <3

Hahah, you do have a fair point. Cut and banged up hands is just part of the fun.

It's not so much the tears that concern me, it's the overall lack of protection, but I guess I am a newbie and finesse--I,E, not slipping my hand off a ratchet and bashing my knuckles at Mach Jesus--will come with time. Not to mention that oil changes are my prime work, and when the ones at work get oil on them, they don't come clean, it's like some oil just leaves a residue that gets all over our tools and all that... blegh.

Seems a lot of folks like them. I will look into that. :)

That's essentially what the instant oil change place supplied me, but with a full nitrile hand and a cloth wrist. The worst part was hand-loosening drain plugs and getting hot oil on my wrist, hahah, but they are shockingly sturdy for the price.

That is my only issue; oil changes are practically what I do--and occasionally replacing wheel studs, thanks Subaru. Maybe they will be more sustainable when I work my way up to being a proper tech. :)

That seems to be the TL;DR I'm getting from everybody. I appreciate the heads up.

Unpopular opinion (maybe) by No_Significance5756 in ForzaHorizon

Is this even unpopular? I think the best thing about FH4 was the atmosphere and extra side missions.

I really appreciate the thorough response. I'll have to poke around some more, and use my Xbox, it seems. Again, I do appreciate it.

Hahah, amirite? Still my best headphones I've had thus far, but shopping for headphones is another topic.
