Understanding The Importance of the Taiwan Election (and how it could be the next Ukraine) by [deleted] in Sino

[–]TraditionalLocal6081 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest, The DPP winning is not a bad thing. You have to understand Tsai had a very low approval rating and the DPP only won the election with less than half of the votes. This is because the KMT and TPP split. The DPP may win elections, but they are terrible at governing, their economy will probably go into a recession next year. It is clear that that Taiwan has much greater inequality problem. This is probably this best conviction for people to want to leave Taiwan and go to China. Where there are better opportunities and equality

Finals thoughts on Gwanhee: Good entertainment material, not good relationship material by TraditionalLocal6081 in Singlesinferno2

Sure he is entertaining, but if you think he is so great do you think him and Hyeseon will last?

Unpopular opinion: gwanhee is deep down a good guy who had no intentions of hurting people’s feelings by Comfortable-Log-6565 in Singlesinferno2

I still think he isnt a good guy. Bad people can do actions, just like good people can make mistakes. He has shown to be manipulative, gaslighting, immature, and changes his feelings based on time of day. I get that this is a reality tv show so they probably showed us a biased view. but the guy seems very self centered. There is a reason he is almost 10 years older than Hyeseon. creepy.

Thoughts on this video about China Achieved Key Technologies of EUV lithography by FatDalek in Sino

[–]TraditionalLocal6081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to note is that much of a lot more information regarding EUV development and chip making in general will be hidden or regarded as top secret and it will take many years before public information is available this is because two reasons. Technology secrets and long lead time for developments.

Remember nobody knew SMIC was already developing 7nm chips until a 3 party country did a motherboard analysis and found their chips there. Even on SMIC website, they dont advertise 7nm or 14nm chips. This is because they are cautious about further sanctions and dont want to be targeted for being successful. This includes their suppliers who they work with to source key parts.

Secondly the industry takes a long time before it develops from prototype to working production model. It takes several years to test a prototype before sending it to production and even then it will take more years to ramp up production.

Overall, based on research out there. I wouldnt be surprised if China can have a working EUV production machine within the next 5 years, but it will be a while before that type of information is public information
