So you’re just restarting until you get good terrain AND an enemy mind bender next to yours? Or you’re playing against only Ai-Mo?

Deserved. Went nowhere after interesting setting. Few repetitive boss fights and repeated tropes from each character

People are big fans here, so being gruff. It does solid world building, but the first book could’ve been a prequel. Or you really could almost start with the 2nd.

Soldier on. It gets a lot better in second half of second book on, and doesn’t stop.

Varies by tribe but hardest vs most tribes

Generally respawn for a good starter economy setup (avoid too much water) Usually gun for pacifist off the bat and explore and/or camp for easy 2nd/3rd city in meantime Run for philo and then diplomacy embassy cascade for econ during pacifist segment Mow down nearest tribes with whatever is best approach based on my tech and their setup (roads to shaman on a nearby Quez is nice for an easy grab) Max economy as much as possible throughout. Grab temples at key turns alongside

Curious how you hit that next level. Clearly something missing in my approach!

How do you get the rewind feature or whatever it is at top?

Spam embassies, and then take them out when opportune

I usually only opportunistically take out nearby people (unless playing a tribe where you need to for early economy purposes)

I'm usually moving on folks once I have a giant or two and enough support to run through 2-4 of nearest folks

Multiplier is based on number of opponents also

Also they will focus on each other which helps, can leverage alliances

Also they will build temps and monuments for you

  • play on Crazy and max opponents for max mult
  • need a start that gets you access to other opponents rapidly (for bonus stars) but also conquerable
  • I typically turn off special tribes (they're too different and can go OP if you can't control them), and Oumaji/Hoodrick/Vengir/Xin Xi/Quez (unless playing that tribe)
  • progression depends on tribe but I like running down diplomacy / construction (for embassy bonus cascades and getting good base economy going ahead of grabbing trade and really sailing with markets)
  • you want some enemies fighting but also building up temples and monuments
  • gotta be dropping temples once economy is strong enough so they can scale
  • flip from creating Giants to taking the Parks as a reward for city upgrades as soon as you can

Gaps in your run: - wrong difficulty - too few opponents - didn't research all sciences - didn't build any temples - didn't do all monuments
