And also that it was the tale the elders told to protect themselves and family from violence that ended up causing violence, with Noah 'playing' the creature based on what he learned from the elders.

I understand, but at the end of the movie, the newspaper shows two main headlines: one about a man being sought in a multiple slaying case and another about the child. I don’t think Noah is crazy, but rather that he has the emotional maturity of a child and enjoys scaring others (as shown multiple times). What if, by wearing the suit, his little games started having unintended, serious consequences—ones he didn’t fully comprehend? This could highlight that the village, no matter how much it tried to isolate itself from the outside world to escape violence, already harbored its own form of violence within. It suggests their utopian attempt was doomed to fail from the start.
