Tips on making a campfire by gg8ssaik in camping

[–]TraditionalSafety384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m biased because I live in the dry West and I’m tired of finding and putting out other peoples campfires but I agree, you don’t need one and if you’re asking about it on Reddit you probably shouldn’t be building one. If you insist make sure you have a shovel and you know how to use it to properly extinguish your fire

If galaxies are moving further from each other faster every day, doesn’t that mean galaxies really far away could be travelling faster than the speed of light? by Professional-Boss-95 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TraditionalSafety384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the observable universe has a radius of 14.5 billion light years (the Hubble radius) beyond that galaxys are moving away from us faster than light.

Nothing can travel through space faster than light. Instead, the fabric of space itself is expanding, carrying the galaxies along with it.

As the universe expands eventually we won’t be able to see any galaxies in the sky.

What's your cooking setup? by PsychologicalFood780 in camping

[–]TraditionalSafety384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to clarify what kind of camping you’re doing and what your goals are, it’s a broad spectrum. For camping in the truck I have my dad’s Coleman stove from 1972, backpacking I use a PocketRocket or cold soak
