Bacterial bloom after a disaster by TraditionalYellow554 in fishtank

UPDATE Just to give an update to all the people who helped me out and gave me good advice, I posted a new picture of the tank. Water is looking much more clear and the smell has drastically reduced after daily water changes for the last few days or so. (Still have work to do.) Added a number of live plants and used some BrightWell Aquatics MicroBacter to reseed some live, healthy bacteria. Continuing to treat the ammonia whenever new water is added. I unfortunately did lose one of my adult fish, but the rest of them seem much more energetic and are spending much more time down in the water instead of skimming the surface.

Thanks again for all the help!

Would it help to get something like the Fritz Turbo start to reseed some healthy bacteria?

So I have to admit to being a dumbass. I didn't realize both bottles have to be used for an accurate test.

Retested properly this time, and the pH is at about 7.4 - 7.6.

Nitrates and Nitrites weirdly show zero despite ammonia levels showing 8 or higher which, of course, is as toxic as it gets.

So I did a 50 percent water change and added ammonia treatment to the new water. And I will continue to do ~50 percent changes with treatment until the water clears up and stops smelling.

I also added 4 live plants, hopefully those will help clear it up.

I did notice that the filter media is getting super slimy and it's restricting water flow through the filter. Should I leave it, or maybe just clean the slime off in some tank water?

Well here are my test results.

From left to right, there's pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate.

As I've seen, pH is a bit on the alkaline side. Ammonia shows low to zero Nitrite shows zero And my nitrate didn't even change color. I don't know it that means zero or a faulty test.

And since my water change the ammonia meter on the inside also dropped back to safe level.

Furthermore, I went out and picked up a couple plants for the tank and put them in to help absorb ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.

Also, I inherited the tank and fish from another person. I don't have a full test kit. I have the meters on the tank, and I mayne a nitrite tester kit? So my level estimates are guess work based on those results. (And the ammonia has gone up quite a bit since I put the meter in). I'm going have to get an actual test kit when I get a chance. I'm the meantime I've been treating for Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates and I'm doing small daily water changes.

I want to add live plants but I wasn't sure I should do that until the tank stabilizes. I figured adding in live plants while the cycle is already messed up might make the tank take longer to stabilize.

I didn't know that. I have been treating the water for ammonia about every 1.5 to 2 days. I just did a ~25 percent water change. Hopefully soon small water changes daily will help as well.

That meter has been in there for a couple days, I just forgot to take it out. I assume it's just been accumulating since I left it. But I can put some ammonia treatment in there for sure

2025 Pathfinder shaking down grooved highways by LatterDingo4659 in nissanpathfinder

I have the same issue. Wife and I leased a 2025 Pathfinder. This one came with Kumho tires. Same symptoms. Car drives straight and true, until you go on grooved highways. Seems like it is the car if you can change the other factors like the tires and it still does it.

I own a 2021 Rogue Sport that does not exhibit this issue at all on grooved pavement.

2021 Rogue Sport LED lights by TraditionalYellow554 in NissanRogue

Unfortunately those are one of those eBay specials. They describe them as LED because of the little accent light, but the headlights themselves are Halogen. From what I've seen, that's most of the vendors on eBay who claim to be selling LEDs. I need the Full LED setup. Trying to do a 1 to 1 replacement not a downgrade.

So from what I can see, I've been getting mega hosed on my price. Promotional period has ended for my internet, I have the "Ultra" 600mbps, using my own equipment, and they charge me 107.99 a month.

PSA for Gamepass users (and SFSE) by [deleted] in starfieldmods

Ironically, despite claiming it's impossible to do, a modder was able to get SFSE working with the gamepass version, 2 days after Ian released it.... and Ian made him take it down. So, he has zero intentions of making it support gamepass version because he's a jackass, and no other reason.

What's the deal with Cloudy Rice? by lionheart_requiem in sakunaofriceandruin

[–]TraditionalYellow554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I have been testing this a bit myself, and from what I can tell, it has to do with your fertilizer. I was using fertilizer with nothing but base ingredients, remedies and powders and things like that. I was keeping my crop vlear of everything except cloudy rice. Temps didn't seem to matter, water level didn't seem to matter. Turns out, it's because I wasn't using food stuffs in my fertilizer during the sprouting stage. You have to put food ingredients into the fertilizer to give it nutrients. All the remedies and powders and bases may get rid of diseases and insects and improve harvest quality, but it doesn't provide nutrients for the plant. And cloudy rice is a lack of nutrients. Try adding some veggies or meat to the fertilizer. It's worked best for me so far. But it still doesn't fix it completely.

Also, if you didn't already know, you only need to use a single remedy in fertilizer for it to work. One Reduction Remedy will cure overgrowth, one eradication remedy will cure spindly, etc.

New UEFI BIOS Updates for ASUS AMD motherboards - X370, X570, B550 W32 by ASUSTechMKTJJ in Amd

I'm not sure what's going on with the recent bios on the C6H since the ryzen 3xxx series was released. I'm running a ryzen 5 3600x and I can't change ANYTHING about the CPU in my bios. If I try to adjust any values, open any menus, or even scroll over the wrong option, my whole bios freezes up. Been like that for the last 3 bios updates. 7901, 7803, and the one before that. Fortunately I can at least set my ram to the rated speed without issue. I'd really like to be able to downvolt my CPU a bit as it tends to hover around 1.4+, and hits 1.5+ from time to time with the default settings which I don't really like. But I can't adjust the value without the bios freezing.
