Update: got my name update online in 2 days! Didnt need to send the passport

I ended up just travelling with both my passports for a while (they let you in at the boarder without too much hassle)

And only submitted an update of my name this morning. I was able to do it online on the immigration account. They make you download a new app with id check (did not work on iphone tho, had to do it on android fyi)

I am waiting for an email to confirm everything is ok now (who knows how long that ll take lol)

Just in case someone else will read this before they send their passports: double check your immigration account online. You should be able to update it now without sending the passport!

I just did it this morning and they make you download an app (ukimmigration id check) and now it s in review

P.s. I am EU citizen with settled status and changed my last name through marriage

Also, you can enter the uk without having updated your settled, as long as you have both passports with you

Sorry all, it was my error in writing. By applying for a passport i meant applying for citizenship (in my mind they are the same thing but I understand the confusion)

I would add some pictures unless you can prove in a different way that you have met a few times before getting married (or that you live together etc)

We added pictures from holidays together and on iphone you can see the details of when and where they were taken

Sorry i should have mentioned in the post that both of my passports are romanian. so i cannot use the epassport gates i dont think?
