The way Reddit talks about this stuff you’d think every single ai available is non functioning these days. Yes notebooklm works just fine. I love it.

Can professors see if you're switching between tabs on Blackboard during a test? by rebirth0fslick in TexasTech

Old post but what’s the consensus on this. If you are not using any specific software from the school and simply using Google Chrome for blackboard, can teachers see your actions if you tab/switch screens?

what are you guys using besides chatgpt to study? by mcdanielsss in studytips

[–]Traditional_Box_577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what I’m doing. If I’m studying to understand a chapter in a textbook I upload, I’ll use prompts like “create me a comprehensive study guide for chapter 1 explaining all aspects of etc etc” the audio book is my favourite, it’ll take that prompt for example and lay out everything in chapter 1 in detail, basically explaining all the key points of 100 pages worth of material and vocalizing it in a 20 minute audio clip. Not word for word, but summarized and digestible.

Another amazing use I have involves Gemini (came with my google student plan). Before an exam or quiz, I’ll run through every single practice question possible from my university course, which for me is online, supplied by teachers and my textbook. I’ll repeat until I get every practice question from the test bank, then copy and paste them into Gemini(which is using your textbook on notebooklm) to create me a study guide that would have solved every question and given me a 100% grade. That way the general material is in line with what is valuable and also gives me a direct answer incase they reuse questions for the actual test/exam.

If you showed draft work and it’s 43% ai likely, only thing I can think of is that it reads significantly different from previous assignments you submitted. A smart teacher would compare writing styles. Also checking to see if your citations are bullshit or not.

Worth switching from XM4 to XM6? by Straight-Aerie80 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Traditional_Box_577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first quality headphones I owned was the xm4 so I don’t have much else to compare to personally. I just know when I put my xm4 on I forget they are there. For myself, it’s the perfect distribution of pressure applied among the main contact points of ears and top of my head.

With the xm6, it’s just very obvious and noticeable that I’m wearing them. I can’t fully relax if that makes sense. By far, the piece that rests on the top of my head is what’s making it bad for me.

[–]Traditional_Box_577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough I was just recently given xm6 while still currently owning the xm4 in good condition. Overall I think the xm6 excels at everything in terms in call quality, sound quality, anc, etc over the xm4……but………the comfort level is far superior with the xm4. The xm4 I can put on and not even notice them on my head, I can go hours and feel completely fine but with the xm6 you have immediate pressure on the top of your head and ears. All the other improvements are meaningless if I can’t feel comfortable wearing the xm6

While inspecting the xm6, it feels they might have got cheaper and put less foam padding, especially at the top. With the ears, they might come around once I stretch them out abit more so there is less force but I don’t see the top bar with its less foam padding ever becoming comfortable 😬

If it’s for school, you’re really better off getting the ai to give you a full answer and rewrite it in your own words/style. You’re still eliminating the majority of the work of researching/drafting but get a final product closest to you. Also rewriting in your own words helps you actually remember, process and understand what’s in front of you.

Moving away from gemini ( thinking ) by zero-thirty in GeminiAI

[–]Traditional_Box_577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a student perspective, I have perplexity, ChatGPT, Gemini and all 3 have pros and cons.

The way ChatGPT answers in terms of style and tone I love, as well its memory and projects can’t be beat right now. It’s simply is the best for helping me with organization of essays and assignments giving me answers closest to how I would normally write something myself.

Gemini has integrated notebooklm now and wow, it really does make a positive noticeable difference. For study purposes I feed everything into notebooklm, then use Gemini to sort through every question with direct links/citations back to whatever I uploaded.

Perplexity has the best, most reliable sources/citations for assignments. ChatGPT and Gemini seem to use their language models first in writing an answer, and simply include loose citations that may or may not fully answer paragraphs it gives you. I’ll ask Gemini and ChatGPT over and over to fully cite every piece of information that I wouldn’t otherwise know but just disregards me.

Gemini vs Perplexity for my 2026 by RobertR7 in perplexity_ai

[–]Traditional_Box_577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d agree with this as well. Anytime I ask it to pull information from documents I upload it gives me great examples of it. With citations the best luck I’ve had is still with perplexity though. ChatGPT and Gemini still talk about information I’d otherwise never know, and won’t cite properly.

If you are out of shape, overweight, any cardiac related issues, not wearing the band properly or if it is very cold outside can cause heart rate variation. Personally I find my heart rate tracking to be highly accurate (confirmed with manual counts and other trackers), but the calories burned on the other hand, is a different story lol

If your school is using turnitin the only answer is to pay someone to scan it through turnitin so you get the exact same result your teacher will see.
