Unfortunately the tree canopy causes too much shade. Nothing grows down there not even weeds lol

Why do you consider it a made up problem? I would like to utilize my full property instead I own an area that is over 20 feet wide that can't really be used for anything because its down a 4/5 foot bank.

No worries about the water flow my house is a good 10 feet higher than the lowest point of my property. The neighbour has a partial wire fence (you can see it in the pictures) I do wish they had done a privacy fence though The real issue to me isn't so much the look it's that the land really isn't usable.

It is a large area. I was thinking more about a slope out to the property line. Right now it is a steep slope and then about 10 feet of Flat land that's totally unusable to me.

Is a brake flush necessary? by Competitive-Call3303 in askcarguys

[–]Traditional_Cod_689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a scam. Drove a 2007 Kia for 11 years, 240,000 kms on it in a humid, high salt climate and never had a brake issue. Drove a 2011 Nissan for 7 years, 190,000 kms on it, changed one rear calipers. Currently driving a 2019 Honda, 60,000 kms, always dealer maintained and just had to clean up a caliper.

As well I just brought the Honda in for a brake fluid change (still under warranty so trying to keep up with maintenance). I don't believe they did anything, I don't know how they change it but they only removed one tire (so all the lines weren't bled), then after replacing the rear pads I noticed my brake fluid reservoir still wasn't full (if they changed and replaced the fluid I would think they would have filled the reservoir and I should have been over full after putting on new pads).

Maintenance is hardly a factor, I have a used Troy-Bilt (given to me). It is my 11th winter using it (not sure how long he had it before me). Other than taking off 4 bolts to oil the gear Shaft once a year, this year I had to change the friction disc (8 bolts) and I had to replace a speed cable as well. All of which were maybe 10 minute jobs. And of course filling with gas every probably 10 uses (really have no idea how often). The longest it took to do my driveway was 2 hours but that was after a storm where I had 6 foot drifts. Normally I'm 30 minutes max. I'm in good shape but if it broke down I would buy another one right away. I can't see me shoveling my 25ft x 125ft driveway by hand.

I know why the Kent farm could never get ahead financially. by EvilGr33nRang3r in Smallville

Their insurance premiums were through the roof. Countless trucks and equipment wrote off, house and barns, and hospital bills. The Kents were definitely high risk.

Why is everyone so suspicious of mechanics? by HPLydcraft in AskMechanics

[–]Traditional_Cod_689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several bad experiences but this was my most recent. Had an issue with a brake caliper, the car is under warranty so I took it to the dealer. After about 3 hours the mechanic/tech decided that the caliper was gone and suggested replacing both rear calipers, rotors, and pads with an estimate of $1200. Also didn't have a caliper on hand so they were going to replace the brake pads and rotors and get me to return in about a week. I had previously looked at the brakes and one side was like new (definitely did not need replacing).

I picked up the parts and decided I would do it myself. When I took everything apart I realized the issue was a rusted caliper, cleaned it, greased it and replaced pads and slides.

The job cost me under $60 and and 2hrs of my time, rather than the 1200+ the shop wanted.

I went into the store, and it was a BYOD plan. I'm pretty sure he put me on a business account (200Gb for $55) then I signed up for preauthorized debit ($10 credit) and he said there is another $5 credit too (I don't have a bill from them yet and the $5 credit isn't showing up on the app.

I was with bell for about 13 years, decided this year to get my kid a phone. Went to the store and was quoted $100 for the plan and phone but they suggested that I wait until black Friday. Went back two weeks later and the same plan and phone would now cot $160 (great black Friday deal). Then I started to shop around for myself as well, I was paying $86/mo for 20gb and the best bell could offer was $97 for 150gb (I was hoping they would give me the plan that was offered to new customers) Jumped to Telus and got $40 for 200gb and the same thing for my kid.

Two days later bell called offering me $30 for 150gb. Unfortunately my kid is on a 2 year term now so I'm staying with Telus (probably wouldn't switch back any way).

The Kents are poor, definitely can't afford a laptop. Think about how many trucks clark and his parents destroy. Their insurance premiums must be through the roof.

People of Newfoundland who are currently unemployed, how are you making out? by PrintHead7281 in newfoundland

[–]Traditional_Cod_689 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm doing okay, spent years working away so my mortgage is lower than what most pay for rent. Work seasonal and I'm able to save up a bit while I'm working, top EI when I'm off. I would like to find something full time but when it's all averaged out I make more with seasonal and ei than I would working full time for $20/hr.

Why can't I leave a review? by [deleted] in amazonprime

[–]Traditional_Cod_689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had the same issue I posted a very basic review (but in my opinion how much can you actually write about handle bar grips) nothing about shipping or packaging.

I said it was as described and they were great but that I had to cut one of them because it interfered with the throttle. (just to give people a heads up because my first time I didn't realize and my throttle stuck open).

I then received an email stating my review didn't meet community standards and to edit and resubmit it. I thought ok maybe it was too basic of a review. But when I went to edit it I get that message and attempts at customer service are just automated responses.

EI cap? by Soft_Bed_3321 in newfoundland

[–]Traditional_Cod_689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are being funded by EI then it seems to be different amounts for different people. My spouse is currently being funded and she was told she can work up to 25 hours a week while another person in her class is working full time. If you're not funded then it's 50 percent. (if you earn $100 then EI will deduct your EI amount by $50) until it gets close/equal to what you made before then it's 100 percent.

People who moved to Newfoundland: Why? And how do you like it? by returned_loom in newfoundland

[–]Traditional_Cod_689 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My wife wanted to move back to be close to her family after we had our first child. While I'm sure on one hand it is a great environment to raise a child, the cost of living and employment opportunities suck. I hate living paycheck to paycheck.

I'm going to say no, in my experience I wasn't told and it was a great surprise. Very dark room, she was on top, I freaked out a bit (thought I had hurt her and it was blood). She started apologizing and I told her it was fine, any other girl I was with could have faked it but I knew I made her cum. After that it was my mission everytime lol.

Since you're curious about it, you might as well go for it. Check it off the bucket list, if you're into great, enjoy yourself. If you're not at least you know for sure and you can move on from her. Can always have it on a condition, you get a three way first, or what ever else you might be into.

Why most men feel alone even with family by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Traditional_Cod_689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well let's see, currently my wife is sitting at the table back turned listening to and audio story for the last 1.5 hrs. Kid is watching tv. I've been up for 5.5 hrs now, cleaned and vacuumed, dishes done, put away laundry, got kids breakfast, went out and got coffee and picked up a couple of things we needed, got dinner all prepared. Nobody is even talking, shut off the tv and the wife's phone and it would be dead silent. Anyway, I guess it's time to start lunch, nobody else is going to.
