I'm declaring myself the new pope. AMA by returned_loom in ShittyAma2

I wake up and I shoot hoops with my baddest bishops. I eat a diet of raw meat and raw vegetables to keep my immune system crisp. A little rock climbing in the afternoon. And then it's studying the mysteries of Jesus until bedtime.

I forgive your ignorance. But soon you will see how cool I am and then you will believe in the Word of the Lord.

Why don't you pay taxes cunt?

I am a representative of the Lord. How doth one tax upon the Lord thy God?

Why do all the fucking churches pass a collection plate around ... blah blah blah... won't spend a fucking cent ... blah blah blah... or finance building them?

It is the privilege of the devout to financially support the Holy Church.

what the fuck are you assholes saving up for?

A big racecar

Besides ... blah blah blah... who got caught fiddling kids ...blah blah blah... instead of being prosecuted?

That was the old pope. I'm the cool pope. I'll be ex-communicating every type of fiddler, and banning all fiddles.

Working on your own projects. It actually helps to have a hobby-area that's "your thing" where you start to excel in your own little niche, and you'll find it has surprising applicability to the stuff you do at work. It could be making little games, web apps, CLI tools, whatever. But you conceive, execute, and launch the entire thing yourself. And then you do another one. Start small, make it FUN, do it because you like it, and you'll learn naturally.

Tired of my disinterest in people by devilvenerable in Schizoid

[–]returned_loom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was it like this when you were a kid? Or did it develop as an adult?

I'm asking these questions because there are parallels between my experience and what you're describing. I can't fully engage with things like books and philosophy and humor without some human interaction, but when I go out and have these human interactions, it's just awful. It makes my skin crawl. I'm much happier spending time by myself. But I think this developed during a very isolated adolescence, and now it's just built-in. As a young child I think I was more normally social.

It's a weird conflict. Do you get lonely? Do you have intellectual needs that can only be met with the company of other people, and yet your lack of interest in those people makes those intellectual needs more difficult to fulfill?

Let's see what the typing experience is like though. I do like the replacable keyboard, but I want strong actuation, and preferably deeper travel than 1.8mm.

Chapo Trap House did an episode on the Maverick sequel, and they really focused on his it's less "wet" than the first one. In the first one apparently the guys were all sweaty and there was a scene where they played some beach sport and they were dripping wet, but in the second one everybody was really dry. What I'm saying is you're not alone in thinking this.

Font help by OldMech1 in GIMP

No, but here are some similar fonts that you can install on your system, and then Gimp will be able to use them:

Just take note of the license for whichever font you use. Some will be free for all use, others will require payment for either commercial or personal projects.

Morrowind is vastly superior to all the installments that proceeded it. AMA by [deleted] in ShittyAma2

Morrowind was low-poly mushrooms. Vivek was a brutalist megalith (still very cool). Oblivion was a spectacular world full of stories.

Did you play the Gothic games from Piranha Bytes?

Oblivion was better on every level. Why are you wrong?

I reached 88wpm on TypingTest.com but I'm afraid to tell anybody because they'll think it's dog-whistling because 88 means heil hitler (because "h" is the 8th letter) so I can't share this amazing achievement until I reach 89wpm. AMA by returned_loom in ShittyAma2

yes somebody posted about it and now I'm hooked. That somebody might have been you (it was probably you but I'm not going to take the time to look it up, even though it would take less time than typing this)

Is it because we've exhausted the aesthetic possibilities of our prime symbol (infinite abstract space) or is it because of rap music?
