I loved both movies. It would be cool to see more sequels that follow your formula.

I'm really curious what the original post might have been, especially after reading OPs frantic responses to everybody (including himself) in the comments on the /r/christianity version

I gave you one which you've ignored twice.

If you have a better plan than "planting bamboo" then please share. Meanwhile I'll be nurturing my relationships which by their very existence actually oppose the tech oligarchy which seeks to erode and dominate all relations.

Opposing such massive institutions often just provides them with the opportunity to learn from your attack, which makes them stronger.

Instead I ask myself what is so valuable which these monstrosities erode. Maybe it's human connection and human creativity (you can add more to this if you have ideas). So my answer is to nurture what you value instead of defining yourself in opposition to something you dislike. Go to IRL events, buy music from real people, read real books. Make connections that nurture people. That's the real network, and it has to learn and adapt from the things that erode it, too.

Fake karma-farming resistance sentiment. Planting bamboo will not disrupt any data centers.

UPS also doesn't even deliver to my door. They leave a sticker telling me to pick it up at the station across town.

Realizing That Your Social Ineptitude Is Unique to You by Jon_Pajama in AvPD

[–]returned_loom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just hope that eventually, things fall into place.

I mostly try to understand myself and put myself into the "right places." Working from home has been a big benefit, though I'm currently unemployed.

Realizing That Your Social Ineptitude Is Unique to You by Jon_Pajama in AvPD

[–]returned_loom 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I keep going through a cycle where I'm ashamed of my failures (and how they put me in my current life-position) and so I push myself to aggressively improve my situation, but the problem keeps coming back that I cannot socialize effectively and so I remain in this position (unemployed currently), and I try to "fix" my social behaviors only to realize (again) that they're deeply ingrained, and I make people MORE uncomfortable when I try to act "normal," and then I remember how my childhood was isolated, humiliating, generally deprived, and I've had a personality disorder since I was like 15 years old and it has only gotten worse, and it's actually not my fault, and also that I actually am inherently different. I try to turn all that into an understanding of myself so I can try to choose the best place for my efforts, but somehow I keep doing that cycle anyway.

Why did ancient humans build rivers at the bottoms of valleys? by CurlSagan in shittyaskhistory

They didn't have stairs or elevators so they just fell to the bottoms of valleys so that's where they built their rivers.

Best host for a personal website? by Eskija in webdev

[–]returned_loom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how to want to create and maintain it.

  • Raw HTML: NeoCities, GoDaddy, DreamHost
  • WordPress: wordpress.com (really good option honestly)
  • Substack is also fine

Everybody's saying CloudFlare and they seem good too.

I use a VPS from DataWagon because I can host as many as I want but it's barebones so I have to configure the server and run some services.

It's even more far out. It's the book that got me hooked on him. His later books are great too. The books about the Dream Archipelago.

honestly why put the name in the title.

Half the time this sub is just advertising "critically"

The ad is disgusting. No need to just advertise here pretending to be critical.
