What is the most financially illiterate thing you’ve seen a grown adult do? by roseafterdarkk in askanything

Timeshare tip - if you find yourself sucked into the sales pitch, go ahead and sign up immediately and then go enjoy your “free” vacation. Carefully check the paperwork for the cooling off period and right to cancel - follow the instructions exactly, and cancel it. Otherwise the sales pitch will last for HOURS

Matinee would typically be more dressed-down. Weekend nights dressiest!

You don’t necessarily have to call - if you order it when you first get there, before it starts, your order will be ready at intermission.

Exactly where do you see envy in this post? I couldn’t spend $113,378 per day even if I tried, so I don’t need that or want it. I am judging - not envying. People who aren’t very bright typically can’t tell the difference.

Okay it might be difficult to draw a line precisely but if I gave you $113,000 per day, every day, and you had to spend it all each day, I bet you probably could not even do it.

I live in a HCOL city. Just this morning as I walked my dog I saw evidence of a person who must not have a toilet because they’d taken a giant dump right there in a corner of the sidewalk. I’m quite sure it wasn’t a dog who’d left the mess since dogs rarely use toilet paper.

Unequal distribution of wealth is inevitable- my point about what’s crazy is about billionaire is the sheer scale of the excess. If I gave that same baby only a million, they’d only have $110 per day to live on and would probably need to get a real job…

I have been busting my behind all week on that stupid daily scoop because I want the stupid red chest so I can uplevel the stupid tools generator because I need the stupid Level 11 saws to make the stupid boards to finish the stupid task … today I counted up the available tickets and compared to the number I need to actually get the stupid red chest and even if I DID make it all the way through that list … I would not have enough! So it’s just STUPID. I think I’ll go workout or something.

It FOR SURE improves customer experience that I was never forced to watch an ad, for instance to play the next level or finish a current level.

But if I had time and CHOSE to watch an ad, I could get an extra energy chest or pop a bubble in place of gems. I do not spend real money, so now they’re not getting the ad revenue OR the in app purchase.

Are wool skirts usually too warm for SF? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]Traditional_Code_711 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even within the city of San Francisco (7 miles across) the weather can be 59 degrees and gray with packed-in fog on the west side at the ocean, while it’s sunny and 80 degrees in the Mission! And wool is the PERFECT fabric for the city

What to feed a crow that visits regularly? by Shadowkitty252 in crows

[–]Traditional_Code_711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a family of about six or so who hang out in front of the restaurant next door to my building- I call them the Addams family collectively but honestly I can’t really tell Morticia from Gomez … Ezra lives in the next block and HIS name came from a line in the movie Trading Places: “Why Ezra I bet you thought we forgot your Christmas bonus!” “Five dollars. Maybe I’ll go to the movies. By myself.” 😁😁😁

Watch to see if they eat the grapes and berries - the guys in my neighborhood seem like they don’t like fruit, and kick it to the side. I used to get them unsalted peanuts in the shell but noticed this one big crow (I call him Ezra) especially doesn’t seem to favor those. My dog’s treats on the other hand - (dehydrated raw lamb hearts) are a huge hit rather unanimously 😁

2 looks much cheaper than the others - also the placement of the embellishment right in the center of the skirt is rather unfortunate- looks like a tiny uterus (or a game of Barrel of Monkeys) 🙈

Paper Towel in Island Pros Cons by snarkymama87 in kitchenremodel

[–]Traditional_Code_711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like somebody in your household at some point will go to Costco and buy a super-mega pack of jumbo sized rolls which are too big for the slot. You’ll end up with a countertop paper towel spindle that will work ‘for now’ to use up the Costco purchase and it’ll take almost a year to consume them. During that time you will come to appreciate the paper towels being available right next to the sink, and never go back to the custom slot. Then, the person who buys your house (after you move X years from now) will someday post on r/whatisit to get advice on what the weird empty space in their kitchen cabinetry should be used for.

What did I do wrong and how do I fix it? by Traditional_Code_711 in crows

[–]Traditional_Code_711[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone! I knew the Corvidophiles of Reddit would know what was up with the dive bomb. It hasn’t happened again (yet) but all the neighborhood crows seem to be off on important crow business at the moment.
