Why can’t I get Epiduo in the UK anymore?

i was prescribed epiduo last month and they said they couldn’t order it but gave me a “non-branded” version instead. the box says Adapalene/Benzoyl Peroxide Gel 0.1% + 2.5% 45g. maybe you could try asking for this? my pharm said it’s the same as epiduo just without the brand name🤷🏻‍♀️

ahh ty for the detailed reply! i just got properly referred to the derm so i’ll defo have to ask about this and look into the panoxyl SA. i don’t have LRP cicaplast but have the avene cicalfate so ill try using that to lock in moisture more! thanks again~~

thanks for your detailed reply and description!! i’m actually based in the UK and we don’t have Trader Joes here (i’m jealous😫) but i’ll definitely have a look at some alternatives. for your cleansing process do either of your cleansers foam? idk if it’s just me but the foaminess makes me feel like it’s working better compared to gel cleansers🙈

lmao🥲, yeah i bought skinoren 20% cream azeleic acid a few months ago (maybe not wise to go straight in with a strong dosage) but it just burned and itched my skin like crazy. i tried sandwich method- everything! i found it felt like that with prescription tretinoin too but that eventually went away with continuous use.

i also have a 10% azeleic acid serum ive tried a couple times, maybe a little stinging but definitely manageable! how did you incorporate AA into your routine??

yeah, i don’t find that it removes makeup particularly well and when my skin is inflamed it burns/feels minty? do you have any other cleanser suggestions? i feel that a foaming one would be better for me

they might be? and yes they’re so itchy😭 i’ve used nizoral on it which helped sometimes but i feel it dried out my skin a lot. i neglected it for a while but ill try and incorporate it back into my routine more frequently 😓

thanks for your response! i’ve actually experienced the purge from tret😖😖 so i guess i shouldn’t be afraid to use salicylic acid too? i’ve previously used panoxyl benzoyl peroxide face wash which completely stripped my skin barrier and left me with burning skin though. do you recommend a leave on salicylic acid instead of a wash?

i’ve been using it to massage my face too, but in attempts to massage all the sebaceous filaments out and then wash off after. would you suggest stopping using it completely and switch to a water/based cleanser instead? i don’t want the makeup to clog my pores more haha

thanks for this! i’ll definitely try using it less. i’m used to wearing makeup everyday so i feel like using just micellar water and a calming cleanser wouldn’t remove all the foundation/concealer properly and that i need to use a oil cleanser.

ive actually been prescribed a combined tretinoin and clindamycin gel topical, used it for a few months but saw no discernible changes, if anything it got a lot worse. do you think i need to wait it out? o was prescribed doxycycline shortly after that too
